News spreads to Ayodhya that their beloved Prince Ram is returning home. The city is filled with joy as the people of Ayodhya make preparations for the arrival of the princes and princess.  Upon his return, the coronation takes place and Ram is crowned the King of Ayodhya.

Return To Ayodhya - The Coronation

With all his armies and best warriors fallen, Ravan himself takes to the battlefield to approach Lord Ram. An epic battle ensues, and the 10-headed rakshasa king, Ravan is defeated once and for all. Ram appoints Vibheeshan as the King of Lanka.

When faced with the task of allowing an army of monkeys to cross the ocean to Lanka, the vanaras, lead by engineers Nal and Neel, set about constructing a bridge of stones with Ram's name enscribed upon them.

Building the Bridge

After conveying Ram's message to Sita, the mischievous Hanuman wreaks havoc in Ravan's palace. He allows himself to be captured and have his tail set on fire. Hanuman escapes and leaps from roof to roof, setting the city of Lanka ablaze before returning across the ocean to deliver the new of his discovery to Ram.

The Burning of Lanka

Princess Sita, folorn and alone in the vast kingdom of Lanka as Ravan's captive sits beneath the Ashoka tree, chanting Ram's name and awaiting any sign of her beloved. Hearing her singing, Hanuman approaches her and brings her word that Lord Ram is on his way to save her.

Ashok Vatika

13 years of exile pass by in the peaceful Panchavati forest where Ram, Sita and Lakshman have been residing. It is then that Surpanakha, sister of the rakshasa king Ravan, approaches the handsome princes in an attempt to attract their attention. When her flirtatious games are met with anger and disgust by Lakshman , he injures her, and she sends for her brothers Khar and Dhushan to seek vengeance. A fierce battle ensues between Ram and the mighty army of demons lead by Khar and Dhushan, who are eventually singlehandedly defeated by Ram.

Ram, Sita, and Lakshman trek into the densly wooded forests of Dandakaranya, far from civilisation. They arrive at Panchavati, and build a hermitage by the tranquil banks of the river Godavari.

The Forest Tribe

The Two Boons, were that Bharath was to be made prince regent, and that Ram was to be banished to the forest for fourteen years. Ram, accompanied by his wife Sita and brother Lakshman, take their final blessings before departing for their exile.

Manthara, servant of Kaikeyi, poisons the Queen's mind after hearing that King Dasharath intends to make Ram prince regent instead of Bharath, and reminds the Queen of her two boons. An envious Kaikeyi sets her plan in motion.

Forest Yagnya - Versus Mareech & Subahu

King Janak holds a swayamvar to find a suiter for his daughter Sita, challenging the mightiest of the land to lift and string the bow of Shiva. After none prevail, Ram lifts and strings the bow - breaking it, winning Sita's hand in marriage.

Sita's Swayamvar

Whilst living in Panchavati, a beautiful, playful golden deer approaches and captures Sita's attention. Sita implores Ram to catch the deer for her, although Ram is certain that this must be some kind of trick being employed by the evil rakshasa king, Ravan. He reluctantly sets off to follow the deer.

After Krishna’s victory over the wicked Kamsa, Vasudev and Devaki are released from prison and reunited with their son.

Reunion

Krishna and his brother Balram are made to fight in a wrestling match against two of Kamsa’s most formidable fighters, Chanura and Mushtika. They fearlessly enter the arena and engage in fierce combat until both might wrestlers are killed. A shaken Kamsa then takes up his own sword against his nephew- but as prophecised, he is defeated at the hands of Sri Krishna.

Kamsa's Downfall

Kamsa’s frustration and anxiety have reached boiling point. He decides the only way to get rid of Krishna once and for all is to bring him to Mathura to have him killed. He sends his advisor, Akrura, to Vraj to invite Nanda and his clan to Mathura under the guise of a grand sacrifice to Lord Shiva. Akrura advises Kamsa against this folly, however he does his bidding- feeling blessed to be in Sri Krishna’s presence. After being warned of Kamsa’s treacherous plan, Krishna reassures Akrura, and the clan make their way to the grand city of Mathura.

One night under a full moon, Krishna goes into the forest and begins to play his flute. His melody enchants the minds of all the gopis of Vrindavan. They run into the forest lost in infatuation, dropping everything they are doing and leaving their families behind. They each want to dance with the charming Krishna, growing more and more jealous of one another. When Krishna disappears, the Gopis are distraught and search for him all over the forest.
When he returns, they surrender their ego to him and dance together in beautifully synchronised harmony with the highest devotion.

Raas Leela

The Naga king, Kaliya was known to reside in the waters of the Yamuna in Vrindavan. His venom has spread through the river so that no bird or beast could go near this place. Tired and thirsty, the Gopa boys decide to quench their thirst from a nearby pool, but one by one they are poisoned, not knowing that the water is contaminated by the evil thousand-hooded serpent. Krishna ventures through the murky waters and challenges Kaliya. As Kaliya is defeated, Krishna begins to dance upon his hoods before mercifully sending him away to Ramanaka Dvipa.

Seeing Bakasura and Aghasura defeated, the servants of Kamsa set fire to the forest where Krishna and the Gopas had gone to graze their cattle. Krishna once again saves the day by drawing the flames into himself and extinguishing the ferocious blaze.

The Forest Fire

Hearing the fate of his younger brother Bakasura, Aghasura transforms himself into a huge python and seeks revenge. He lures the Gopa boys into his wide-open jaws and traps them. Krishna manages to hold open Aghasura’s mouth, and helps his friends escape before destroying the vicious demon.

Plagued with agitation about Krishna’s existence, Kamsa sends the demon Bakasura to destroy the cowherd boy once and for all. Bakasura assumes the form of a giant crane and attacks the Gopas as they go about grazing their cattle, however Krishna defeats the mighty demon with ease.

Several years pass; Fearing for their safety under the rule of Kamsa, the villagers of Gokul move to the forest of Vrindavan. Krishna and his friends have now grown up, however their penchant for adventure has not changed! With Krishna as their ringleader, they remain as mischievous and audacious as ever.

The Gopi women of Gokul go about their morning rituals peacefully, collecting flowers, milking cows, churning butter and cleaning their homes. Krishna is now a little boy, and is known for his cheeky capers- forever playing pranks on the hardworking women of the village.
However frustrated they may be with his antics, they cannot help but be charmed by his presence in their lives. They go about their daily tasks with a smile on their face, constantly chanting Krishna’s name.

A Village Morning

Vasudev escapes the prison and arrives at the banks of the Yamuna River. As he carries the precious baby, goddess Yamuna aids his journey across the river. Rain begins to fall, and the thousand-headed serpent Sheshnag protects the child as Vasudev crosses the river.
The lyrics are derived from the Bhagawad Geeta (Chapter 4, Verse 7), where Sri Krishna proclaims:
Whenever there is a decay of righteousness, O Bharata, and a rise of unrighteousness, then I manifest Myself.

Now comes the fateful hour. Clear night skies. A hundred million stars. Now from the east comes a hallowed breeze. In the heavens, drums sound, celestial beings dance and sing in praise. Brahma and other Devas come to glorify that supreme Lord who in his most charmful form is to be born. Lord Vishnu appears before Devaki and Vasudev and instructs them to take the divine child to the house of Nanda and Yashodha in Gokul. Miraculously, Vasudev’s shackles fall away, the guards fall unconscious and the prison gates open…

The Birth of Krishna

After a voice from the heavens prophesises his death at the hands of Devaki’s eight child, Kamsa is consumed by fear and agitation. He draws his sword to kill Devaki, but is stopped by Vasudev who pleads with him to spare her life. In exchange he promises to hand each of their children over to Kamsa as they are born. Prince Kamsa seizes the throne and commences a tyrannical rule over the people of Mathura.
