Wanting to explore some different production styles and build elements to blend. With the goal of producing something special for the Color Squad Records compilation. 

Created in multiple Logic project sessions. Sound design and Beat building session - bpm 124. Mix and arrangement session. Final assembly in Mastering session. Midi soft synths (Vital, UA Polymax, Surge XT, Logics Retro Synth). Live percussion elements. Break beats: Dedalus - CT6 & Hilton Felton - Be Bop Boogie. Granular Re-synthesis of melody/lead using "bandlab" Audio stretch app on phone. Sonosaurus PaulXStretch app for textures.

The main lead/melody loop was created many years ago, for a part of a remix of "Kill or be killed" for my indie rock band, at the time. "Further"

A track we never released or published.  One of the lyrics in this song was "When we walk by night" (More to do with taking a dark path, rather than going to an after party) 

When the melody/lead was rediscovered while randomly going through files & folders looking/listening for some inspiration. The loop manifested a memory of going to clubs and the night life around 1990 in Sydney. Friends, the sounds, the drinks, the music and the walk/journey home. Ears ringing. Reliving the night. Feeling glorious. Being out in the night with friends. 

Writing a passage with this in mind. Green.Washer was generous with his time, to read through and record the "we walk by night" passage a few times via his phone. With limited info regarding its context or the music. He sent a few versions and they were edited into arrangement session. Thanks Green.Washer!

@nuansonar is the member of mainframe destructors @glitch-dot-cool who has most eminently explored the borderlines between hyperglitch and club music. Co-founder of the codebreaking cauldron, NS’s tunes are those in the corpus most divorced from the expectable historical and imaginative palette of their future-alchemics. Deconstructed club, jump-up, trap; cumbia and latin club fed back through the potpourri percussion of hyperpop… plenty of NS’ music appears to belong to a corporeal immediacy, rather than the cosmoses of occult history and otherworlds. It’s labile and embodied - an invitation to a sonic world of maquettes in demoniac glee, animated playthings made of domestic space... a music that is concordant with some academic definitions of play. The reimagination of space, the repurposing of an environment in creative selfhood. It does this to genre and to the apparatus equally. Each sound, input/output is verdant with both the spirit of ludus and the encouragement to resee virtuosity as a fundament of play. 

NS’ mix, made almost entirely from a metric ton of his own unreleased tunes, is an exquisite demonstration of the coruscating playfulness aforementioned. At times glistering with a technical rapidity explicable only as of another world, at others commodious in its dark industrialism - this is less the map of a mind than a radically motional molecular system, extricated from authorship and individuality, wildly inhabitable to the amenable listener. If play is the end of virtuosity, then the virtuoso remains in that system. Somewhere amidst implacable atoms, Nuan Sonar... the civilian Socrates throwing stones in the street.
