A warm welcome to producer, DJ, sound artist and engineer - Silvia Kastel: the latest artist to join our mix series. Raised in Italy, developing her musical style in New York and now based in London: Silvia has been immersed in the the avant-garde electronic scene since her teens. She incorporates a background in sound engineering, a history in regular improvisation (being a member of Control Unit with Ninni Morgia from 2011-2014) and a late-flowering interest in club music into her productions, the latest of which was 2018’s impressive ‘Air Lows’ on Blackest Ever Black.

Within this mix Silvia demonstrates additional influences to her sound: contemporary club music ranging from 90-180 BPM, with a focus on polyrhythms and a couple of curveball reworks thrown in for good measure. Enjoy.

Tokyo-based producer Yosuke Tokunaga (@yosuketokunaga) makes his debut on Prepaid Records. Already known through his releases on UK-based label Strange Rules as well as US-based Madriguera, he can be considered a hidden pearl in abstract beat music. Tokunaga uses a minimalistic compositional mentality in his works. Simple structures and consistent rules are defining his style as well as his sound aesthetics. "7 Patterns" follows the same path of sketch-type and filtered tracks.
