It’s a Saturday evening, in a cold town
So get your ginger ales and gather around

Long, long time ago, in a land called Bigelow
There was a knight in shining armor.
He travelled far and wide, to find himself a bride
He had no brains but he was quite the charmer.

“Princess, O Princess! Am comin’ for you.
Gonna slay the dragon, gonna cleave it in two.
Gonna free you from this tower and give you a kiss.
Oh good heavens, my horse has gone amiss!”

“You and me… We weren’t meant to be.
I don’t need no help, I can break out myself.
Soon I’ll be out, running down these stairs.
I’m gonna kill the dragon, catch him unawares”

Long, long time ago, in a land called Bigelow
There was a princess locked up in the tower
She broke out of her cell, almost all was well
She needed no man, there’s nothing that could harm her.

“Princess, O Princess! I’m setting you free.
I just found my horsie was stuck in a tree.
I have a magic sword. I’m gonna stab him to death.
Huhh hold on… I have to catch my breath!”

“The dragon is dead, I chopped off his head.
Go away O Knight, you know not how to fight.
Now I’m going home, where I’d like to be alone
I don’t wanna see you again, my life is my own.“

Long, long time ago, in a land called Bigelow
A terrible beast was brought down by my mother
Now, all was well, as far as we could tell
The dragon was dead and the land was calmer

It’s a Saturday evening, in a cold town
A princess too, can strike a beast down.
