IMYRMIND debuts on Tartelet with a four-tracker ranging from banging MPC techno to contagious Latin house and laidback jazzy wonk.

After finishing a degree in architecture and relocating to Berlin earlier this year, IMYRMIND stepped up his game with the release of his solo debut on Astro & Graef’s Money $ex imprint. This November will see the release of the beat-smiths second solo venture on Tartelet Records.

The opening track ‘Tong Po’ is IMYRMIND’s take on techno, inspired by the villain from Jean Claude Van Damme’s 1989 cult classic Kickboxer. A heavy pitched kick drum, fuzzy melodies with generous use of tape delay and a badass bass line dropping around the three-minute mark makes this a peak time candidate.
‘Wanja 9000’ slows down the pace. Dusty Jazz samples and wonky beats with sloppy turntable cuts add a nice live feel to the track. 

On the b-side ‘Upturn’ sets the mood with classic salsa percussion infused with an epic brass and piano hook that could very well stem from the infamous Palmieri brothers or one of their contemporaries. Embrace your inner Latino and follow your hips.
The last track of the record ‘Number Seven’ completes the circle with venturous drum programming, layered melodies and plenty of “early morning ambiance”. 

IMYRMIND is scheduled for a three-week Australia, NZ and Asia tour in November alongside long-time collaborator Glenn Astro.

This project is my homage to nature and sunlight and its goal is to convey the feeling of being outside. The EP is named after Puerto Rico's El Yunque rainforest, the only tropical rainforest in the United States and one of my favorite places in the world.

A.U.D.D.A. Records, das mysteriöse Label um Twit One, Groove Attack Record Store und Melting Pot Music, präsentiert "Ein fraktales Duett", die zweite Single von Lazy Jones & Hazenberg featuring Eposz.

Das Producer/MC-Duo ist eine unbekannte Größe im Kölner Underground-Rap. Kaum Social-Media-Präsenz, keine Beziehung zum Deutschrapzirkus - Lazy Jones & Hazenberg machen lieber Musik. Zuletzt doch relativ häufig, weshalb demnächst ein komplettes Album mit dem Titel „Unter einem Berg“ ansteht.

Hazenberg wuchs in der DDR der 80er-Jahre auf. Staatskommunismus und Pionieraction prägten seine frühe Welt. Erst Mitte der 90er hörte er das erste Mal einen Raptrack auf seinem Walkman: Method Mans "Release Yo' Delf" beamte ihn in eine Art musikalische Offenbarung. Viel weiter kam er auf dem Mixtape auch nicht - er musste den Track immer wieder hören und spulte ihn stets auf Anfang zurück. Von dort an entwickelte sich Hip-Hop zu einem stetig wachsenden Teil seiner Identität.

"Ich schätze, dass Hip-Hop viele Aggressionen aus meiner Kindheit kanalisiert hat. Und wahrscheinlich bin ich damit nicht allein… Das Ausspielen von Kämpfen im Hip-Hop-Battle ist für mich eine Übersetzung in eine kulturelle Bewegung. Heute verstehe ich meinen Rap oft als ein Selbstgespräch - auch als eine Art Selbstvergewisserung? - mindestens aber auch als eine Spiegelung für die von mir wahrgenommene Gesellschaft, ein Spiegelbild nach innen und außen.
Hazenbergs Texte sind oft collagenhafte Sprachspiele mit Assoziationen zu vergangenen und aktuellen Geschehnissen, nicht selten mit pessimistischer Kritik an neokapitalistischen Entwicklungen.

Lazy Jones gestaltet das Beat-Game auch über den Kölner Raum hinaus bereits seit geraumer Zeit mit. Sowohl als Solokünstler (sein letztes Solo-Album „Lazy Man Walking“ kam 2016 ebenfalls über A.U.D.D.A.) als auch an der Seite von Twit One, mit dem er zusammen in Bottrop aufwuchs. Unter dem Namen Flatpocket haben die beiden zwei richtungsweisende Alben über MPM releast, gemeinsam mit Retrogott und Count Bass D außerdem das Album „The Count in Cologne“. Zuletzt erschien von ihm die EP „Echoes of EKE“ - ein Kollabo-Projekt mit Twit und Flame.
