The Munich based duo Coeo are the stars of our fourteenth release. Florian Vietz and Andreas Hopfl have presented us with three original tracks with nice and special character. Closer EP is definitely a landmark release for us at Lagaffe Tales which challenges us to follow up with this new standard in the following future. The title track Closer is the star of the release. What stands out if the great percussion work and hauntingly beautiful vocal sample, whispering into our ears. As if the original track was not enough, we were lucky to get one of our biggest influences; Lay-Far to remix the track. The remix takes the percussion work to the next level and still staying true to the original mix. Lay-Far does not disappoint and makes sure that we connect memories we hold dear to the track. Mind Games is a beautiful piece with a tight baseline and enchanting piano atmosphere.  The duo bring to the table another beautiful piano sampling piece in the third track Timid Dancer. The whole EP has encouraged us to work harder and to grow in the right direction as a label.

Take Daniel Leseman’s signature swing and loose arrangements, add a touch of Junktion’s knack for jazzy chords and sampling, and you get Fouk. After a set of excellent solo releases on their own Outplay records and Slow Town, the duo now turn to Heist with a killer EP.

It's been a happy spectacle watching our friends at Lobster Theremin grow into the pink-bellied beast we see before us today. Their following has grown almost as quickly as their roster, snowballing via a release schedule that's as strong as it is frequent: a consistently welcome serve-up of Motor City-inspired house, dreamscape acid and narcotic techno. 

Late last year, Camp Lobster drilled deeper into the spectrum with Mörk, the label's darkling sub-imprint and home to its gloomiest techno. This week they inaugurate a new imprint, Distant Hawaii – a summer off-shoot for beach-coasting sunshine house. And its first release is exactly that: a wonderfully deep debut for Manchester man Hidden Spheres. 'Waiting' is our pick of the litter: a glowing thumper that's all butter-melt Rhodes lines, ecstatic vocal whoops, and tons of playful percussion. The perfect summer jam, basically – coming to a terrace near you very soon.

"Westside Movements" was written, produced and recorded on the inner skirts of Melbourne’s western suburbs. Gaining heavy influence from ongoing cultural movements currently gracing the streets of Footscray, the surrounding abandoned warehouses and the banks of the Maribyrnong River, this record is an Ode to the West and the joy, unity, and enlightenment it has and continues to provide to myself and all of those who choose to embrace its hidden beauties. After a well deserved break for the first quarter of the year, Myna returns, fresh and ready for the summer. Da Sunlounge, whose recent remixes include Crazy P on 2020 Vision & Lisa Shaw on Salted Music, returns to his Myna label with 2 tracks that will work a treat at summer gigs. Be it roof-top parties, festivals, beach gigs, or the clubs of Ibiza.

'All I want' kicks off the EP with vintage drum machine beats that lock you in from the word 'go!' Adding to the groove is a bumping, shoulder popping analogue b-line, subsequently locking you in. Once the track has your full attention, a subtle male vocal speaking about a very well known New York DJ drops in and takes the track up a level.

Dream Girl takes the EP into a deeper territory. Warm bass that spills over and drips from the sub's. Melodies top the track from start to finish with a pitched down male 80's vocal samples that turns the track into a mind bending groove. Suitable for either lazy gatherings in the midday sun or reaching in to the corners of a dark club.
