Hybrid Moment x Pikidrils

We present a new series of hybrid mixes in collaboration with a talented Ukrainian illustrator, art critic and graphic designer Oleksandra Shipilova, who works under the pseudonym Pikidrils. 

This collection of stamps was created as a visual companion to the postcards, which are based on photographs taken during Sasha's trip to Philadelphia. 

The first mix of the series, recorded live at Community Cafe by Katia Stieber, became a new creative challenge for her, expanding the usual boundaries of her musical experimentation. This mix combines broken grooves, African drum and bass rhythms, electro aesthetics and recognizable tracks of this genre, from producers such as London Modular Alliance and Lunar Orbiter Program.

In 2021, he embarked on a new chapter, founding MÄR. The collective is dedicated to the art of celebration, a dedication that remains unbound by convention or compromises. Oscillating between hypnotic textures and broken beats, Haeminum creates a powerful atmosphere of darkness in his raw electro music. With a strong aesthetic signature, he explores themes of duality and contrast, reflecting the tension between light and shadow, confronting fears and fascinations, and evoking the eerie, unsettling beauty of the folk-horror genre.

Which artists has influenced you the most? 
- I believe one of my biggest influences is FVNERALS, a doom/metal/ambient band that I absolutely love. Metal is the genre I listen to the most; I don't usually listen to much electronic music. However, I have to admit that artists like GESAFFELSTEIN and MAENAD VEYL are exceptions. I've been listening to them weekly for years now.  

What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future? 
- I'm working on a new EP for my label, "As Martyr Records." I believe it will have a similar vibe to my last EP, "Pensée Noire" — heavy, dark, and melancholic. However, I'm still working to bring something new that will surprise the listeners.

Which artists/labels is more relevant to you now? 
- Sleep Token, a mysterious indie-pop metal band that came out of nowhere, has a unique approach to music and consistently delivers original sounds. HAUK creates a dark electro style with Russian folk influences, while Visonia, a deeply emotional composer, can move you to tears with his new wave and ambient music. There are many talented artists, but these three are definitely worth listening to.  

What inspires you now to create music? 
- I have a strong sensitivity to visual art. You could say I’m a cinephile. Some directors, like Nicolas Winding Refn, Gaspar Noé, or Robert Eggers, share this sensitivity to beautiful imagery with strong contrasts. Each of these directors crafts films that go beyond storytelling, transforming them into visual and sensory experiences that linger in my mind.Additionally, photographers like Nona Limmen, who explore themes such as "witchcraft," "gothic art," and "folk darkness," deeply inspire me.
When I compose my tracks, I always have a sort of "picture" in my head. It could be a color, a specific place, or a feeling. No matter what, I always try to create a core essence or "heart" for each track.

What set-up do you use when creating music?
-  I don’t own much. I used to play guitar in metal bands, so I focus on using my guitar and effects pedals to create saturation and atmosphere. I also sample some horror movies, but don't tell anyone.
