This April sees the return of Mexican imprint CVMR with its fourth release, this time bringing American artist Sleazy McQueen into the limelight with his ‘You Know How’ EP, featuring Century and Kasper Bjorke on remix duties.

As owner of the record label Whiskey Disco, Sleazy McQueen has helped to give the 'Nu-Disco' scene an element of referential class. With remarkably well produced re-works and originals, the Sleazy sound combines the dirty fun of seventies funk with the hypnotic rhythms of deep house. As a dj, he has travelled from Asia to Europe, both Americas and a constant tour of the United States. His music productions have been licensed to over 100 releases, remixes & edits on labels worldwide, including, but not limited to; Bearfunk, Virgin, Compost, Paper Recordings, Siesta & House Arrest.

Title track ‘You Know How’ kicks off the release, McQueen blends organic rhythms, smooth ethereal pads and stabbing bass hits skillfully alongside stuttering vocal snippets, so intricately programmed and finely selected the resultant record is incredibly unique and protruding. Following is ‘Bittersweet Freedom’, yet another stunning cut from McQueen, this time he ups the energy levels and storms straight in with an infectious groove from the get go, employing jangling percussive lines, hypnotic resonant synths and rumbling sub bass to create a powerful piece oozing with intensity and vehemence.

On the flip side of the release we have two reworks of title cut ‘You Know How’, the first of which comes from Century, stripping back the vibe to a dropped tempo, emotive workout fuelled be heavily reverberated piano chords, echoing vocal lines and a general chuggy, low-slung vibe throughout.

While Compost Black’s main man Kasper Bjorke finishes things off with his acid tinged interpretation, driven by a gritty saw-wave bass hook, rolling snare hits, wanderings arps and crunchy drums, a simply stunning piece of music as expected from the undeniably talented Copenhagen born producer.

Hailing from the Netherlands and childhood friends since high school, Daniel & Hans' ear for music started at a young age. Eventually, electronic circuits & noise making machines were being used and music production became a real possibility.  With time, the duo would refine their production finesse and put their signature jazzy stamp on the world.

For today's exclusive premiere, Amsterdam's Melon dons his Je Dàvu guise to bring 'Don't You Need', a stomping disco work-out that's been heavily rinsed by San Proper and the select few who've been lucky enough to receive a copy over the years.

Fellow Amsterdammer Uffe then unleashes the jazzy, shapeshifting 'Keepon' nearly 50,000 SoundCloud plays later. Vilnius hotshot Ponty Mython goes deep and cute on his woozy, melodic 'Still Afraid Of Bats'. It's been several years since the producer and dj (one of the two members of the duo Fouk) squats the charts, with some releases on labels like Outplay Records, of which he is the co-founder, Slow Town Records, Times Are Ruff, Razor -Tape. 

He writes himself on his Soundcloud page : "The deeper side of house and everything that goes with it is my thing." It sounds pretty self-explanatory!
