At the end of the nineties a radio station did a ‘Cover the Rolling Stones’-contest. The prize was a performance at Paradiso, Amsterdam. We got the gig! The song seems to be an ode to civil rights activist Angela Davis.

Tiedo Groeneveld is the most musical person we know, period. This song is from one of his best albums, ‘Soul Jet’.  He has replaced various injured members of our group as sound man, guitarist, bass player and mandolinist. Not at the same time, though we have no doubt that he could have pulled it off.

Cochon Bleu’s fourth single this season is called

Je ne comprend rien des filles
(De Jong, Gubbels, Gubbels, Gubbels)

and it’s not about us, we swear. We’re all experts on the female psyche. The main character of this song says he understands nothing about women, but he doesn’t mind being surprised.  Which is a pretty cool way of handling it, we guess.

On the flip side of their latest single, Cochon Bleu cover Kylie Minogue’s ‘I Just Can’t Get You Out of my Head’. The song seems to describe itself, as it is one of the most persistent earworms of the last 20 years…

Cochon Bleu ( Blue Pig ) is a Cajun & Zydeco band from Groningen Holland.   
The musicians recorded their first CD Changez Les Guitares in 1996, giving a good idea of the energetic live band they had become. The band created an own interpretation of the cajun-sound, with three lead-singers and the violin replaced by the singing solo-guitar.
