FINALLY, after 3 years in the making and countless hours of programming, the debut full-length release by Dev/Null is finally here. Actually Cock Rock Disco was founded to release Pete Cassin AKA Dev/Null's record back almost 2 years ago.

Lazer Thrash is probably one of the most advanced electronic albums ever created in our opinion, somehow musical and friendly while literally breaking the speed barrier of what is possible. Cassin throws in references to everything from grindcore to classic rave; chip tunes, space-jazz and doom metal all having a space in his strange musical world.

This rare and special uniqueness in Dev/Null's sound has already won him a huge number of underground fans. He's probably one of the best-known breakcore producers even though he has a limited release history. But he holds a new special place as being one of the most downloaded new producers shared world wide via P2P networks. Those who are aware of dgoHn will by now be familiar with his sound and those who aren’t should be. Back with his third single on Love Love, the drum maestro makes skin prickle once again with two shining original tracks laced with impeccable moments. Only dgoHn can create the kind of drum and bass that sounds like the tightest of ensembles playing meticulously rehearsed arrangements, painting intricate shapes with the percussion. 
 
The title track takes a fresh look at the amen break, finding ways to breathe new life into it. Soaring above the clouds on thick warm pads the drums thunder with a blissful rage, propelled forwards by a rumbling bassline. On the B-side ‘Dooky’ serves up a dgoHn masterclass in spatial control that could well be a future-classic of his. A formidable groove with serious punch, hi-hats skip along as the delicate balance of frequencies gives the listener just enough headspace not to get lost in the deep, dark world it creates. A subtle demonstration of tension and release, this single floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee whilst dripping with funk.
 
Lastly, Rognvald switches up the title track with a jam that triples the edits and doubles the bass, tipping the scales from the side of restraint to that of chaos without losing the feel of the original. Artwork once again provided by Colin ‘Snublic’ McCallister.

Ruby My Dear - Altaïr [LOVWAX10 CLIPS]

I think most artists have some personal goals they set for themselves when creating their art. Some might strive for some technical achievement that underlay the artistic ones which might be more personally important for them. Others just want to see how far they could push something. This track, Fauvist Respoke, is perhaps my greatest achievement in sample manipulation. I had wanted this to be a 20 minute prog-opus, a la "Fragile", and while it's about half that length, you get a whole ton of ideas packed in there.

My only real regret in my carer so far is that this - my "best" track - only was available as the B-side to the Vinyl version of the "Lady Fantasy EP". And that pressing wasn't so awesome.  But hopefully by posting it here, as well as by spreading it on other sites (CRD, etc) I can give it a bit of new life....
