POLAAR is excited to announce the upcoming release of SNKLS, an artist who is redefining the boundaries of footwork and IDM. A collaborator since the label's inception, SNKLS crafts tracks where fragmented percussion intertwines with IDM and dub influences, drawing inspiration from the techniques of concrete music. His style is marked by a minimalist approach, where each element is pushed to its extreme, adding an introspective dimension to his compositions.

With « ELEMENTS », his new four-track EP, SNKLS makes his most powerful statement. Each piece plunges into a realm of bleep and dub techno, while others explore gong sounds and repetitive motifs, subtly evoking traditional Eastern music and minimalism. Building directly on the foundation laid by his previous EP, **Half Horn**, SNKLS skillfully plays with our mental space, transforming this listening experience into an immersive and obsessive journey that is undeniably modern.

For the final release of 2018, SVBKVLT are excited to announce the new EP from Mun Sing, the juddering solo project of Giant Swan‘s Harry Wright. 3 original tracks + remixes from Flora Yin-Wong and Osheyack

Mun Sing’s uncompromising ingenuity of sonic weaponry explores bone rattling, fragmented cyber grime and radioactive trap templates. An attack of fluctuating polyrhythms that pan from left to right creating a delirious effect. Amplified dissonant noise. Syncopated and visceral neo-EBM drum patterns that disintegrate, dissolve and accelerate then starkly shrink with an adrenaline fuelled industrial intensity.

Mun Sing is Wright’s tool to challenge the conventions and aesthetics of modern day club culture. To experiment with ideas of inclusivity and positivity, influenced by mainstream pop music by injecting pop’s marketing methods into the more serious, austere club world. Dance routines, obnoxious visuals and brash costumes all feature in the live show, where Mun Sing uses these elements as a means to highlight inclusivity, movement and fun.

Know V.A.: Hibernation (Knives)

Knives follow this Summer’s Kuedo OST release with an upfront club tool EP from DJ / producer duo, Know V.A. 

'Hibernation' traces ecstatic elements from the hard dance music familiar to their formative experience growing up in Holland, and fuses them with more UK leaning frameworks of late 90s techstep and late 00s vaporous grime, forming an ode to the romantic nostalgia of a shared club experience. Across the 5 tracks on 'Hibernation', Know V.A. set baroque string and choral arrangements into orbit around a hypnotic meandering of fierce gabber stabs and chattering percussion - at once reminiscent of both devine, classical ceremony and flailing club experience, drenched in sweat.

Know V.A. have performed internationally for a range of promoters and venues, such as Boiler Room and Stedelijk Museum. They curate the event and club night ‘Strange Days’, which seeks to showcase contemporary hardcore experimentalism and explore how the genre, sonically and visually has remained active in the underground. Their soundtrack work includes music for Calvin Klein and the acclaimed hardcore documentary 'Thunderdome Never Dies'. 

A collaborative artwork for the project is provided in the form of an emblem designed by artist Nicholas Law, subsequently animated by Winston Duke.

The EP will be closely followed by an additional release of remixed tracks, provided by UCC Harlo, Exploited Body & Sully. 

As of 2020 Knives is an independent project, now separate from any parent label.

Hibernation 

Know V.A. - Artefact

Eusebeia graces the Modern Conveniences catalogue with a truly unique EP. Inspired by themes of technology, human memories, and how the two influence our communication with each other, Recall is thought-provoking and introspective. This EP marks somewhat of a shift for Eusebeia, more closely resembling his recent releases on his own Rebellion Electronics imprint than his trademark jungle stylings. Rumbling basslines set the foundation for sparse drum work and melodies which evoke a deep sense of melancholy and longing, perhaps for simpler times.
