As sure as the sun will rise, there will always be music to keep you company. Welcome back for another installment of ‘escape from reality for just a little bit’. The lead architect on this project is none other than Tilly Barber. All round aesthetic god, super mum, lifestyle oracle and one of the nicest people you could have the pleasure of meeting.

This mix hits, hard, in all the right spots. A collection of feelings, thoughts and idea’s all tipped into a beautiful musical melting pot. The final product speaks for itself, expressing a deep understanding of raw emotion. Musical offerings new and old from all over the world, lovingly littered with sound bytes from Mother Nature herself. Covering all bases in poetic motion, it slowly weaves in and out of consciousness, subliminally taking control, then letting you go. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a brisk walk through the bush on a cold winter's day with the sun peaking through the canopy, this (mix) being the only thing keeping you warm. So I suggest you do just that. Stop reading and start listening.

Dewy electronics from the Bavarian forests.

Number 40 in the Theory Therapy series is a mossy bed of iridescent electronics and ambient textures by Berlin-based DJ Akimat. We absolutely love the Aussie-born selector’s taste in music and the way they craft mixes around specific themes. This one was inspired by “intricate, gentle nature in the forests of Bavaria” and features a bunch of recent favourites from Concave Reflection, dj hexscrew and Ultrafog. There’s also a forthcoming one from our label hidden in there too.

Written between Chicago and New York throughout 2023, 'Plateau' is a lacework of chiller dub-techno and ambient sparkle, crafted via recorded material, astute sampling, and live instrumentation. Rounded off with a stellar remix from your favourite ambient boyband (Purelink), this record is one for the serial unwinders.

Labels Theory Therapy and co:clear come together to release the debut album by Italy-based artist CHANTSSSS.

‘Shyness’ suggests something subtle, intricate and ethereal – but it also demands your attention. Over 10 tracks of spacious, sub-aquatic ambience, CHANTSSSS pulls you deep into his vaporous sound world. The songs themselves, a blend of ambient pop, chamber music and pulsing low end rhythms, feel cloaked in mystery. Layers of reverb and zonked vocals float in the atmosphere, moving between and through one another, mist on mist. It’s not necessarily a quiet record, the low end can shake a room if you turn the volume up, but it does feel extremely intimate – proof that some art speaks loudest in its quietest moments.

With past offerings to Soleil Rouge and Second End Records – a label which he heads – there's a thread that laces all of Jonnnah’s work. Although never sticking to a definable bracket, the Lyon-dweller effortlessly floats through various tempers, peddling impeccable electronics as equally suited to colossal sound systems, as they are to solitary early morning walks in headphones. It's ambient for the foreground that surprises with flurries of two-step and amen breaks – present-day sonics that doff their cap to what’s come before.
