futile seems the echo of the past
to minds that seem to want to be right
winged are the birds that fly for peace
but shot down they are so fast
even before their flight takes ease
and our mouths seem sealed, taped together
as if our hearts arent waiting for times to get better
but our eyes are soaking while trying to look
while tears of blood are shed on their death bed

souls are aching, hearts are breaking but big mouths remain shut
locked up
interrupt 
the ones that try to speak up

declaring us as weak
boasting themselves with glory
as if victory lived in their pockets
next to the ravenous mouth of greed
that wants to swallow each and every seed
we try to plant, they want us to think we cant
but what they dont understand is that we wont listen to their command to obey

we will weave our strings together while we pray 
with words with hands with hearts with looks with pens with hope
while those all seem futile, while hopelessness trickles down the crevices of our beings
while the little things are starting to lose their meaning
while priviledge presses like a thick thorne into our flesh
for what are we to do

what are we to do alone like we were taught to be
while loneliness is the soil they planted their invasive garden upon
watering it with disconnection they are selling as connection
and only a slim selection of people are chosen to have a say
that are sowing the seeds of our own decay
overwhelmed i try to close my eyes
while i dont want to look away
