Seichte Wellen

It was the end of my stay in Esens. And I felt slightly euphoric because I had good music and recordings in the box. I particularly remembered the day back when I was in the right place at the right time, and my camera was pressed on shot. Neuharlingersiel, in light rain and oppressive gray. I was not discouraged and ran through the mud to pick up the birds. Not so easy with the wind. I picked a good spot and watched as the tide slowly crept in, not in big wild waves, smooth and softly. When the waves reached the stones, they stroked slowly to the edge, almost noiseless, splashing softly. And so I conclude my album with a quiet piece, with a good night and for you here now, have a nice time.

Lekker in Plietsch

If I sat in the Plietsch Restaurant on the weekend Saturday evening and I look around slightly as I let myself be infected by the slight commotion at the bar and the many guests. Despite my relaxed week time was running faster again now - I was wide awake. Because today I make the most important recordings of the album. Counter, guest room and kitchen. With every cool noise I had to smile and imagined what I would do. And I let myself be fully involved in this loaded Saturday night cocktail atmosphere.

Meereshimmel

It was almost midnight, I felt a bit cramped and it drove me outside to take a breath. So I drove towards Neuharlingersiel, got out and almost ran towards the beach. It was low tide but I could not really see the mudflat. There I stood in complete silence, no sound, no breeze. But what I saw was breathtaking. Without urban light sources, the starry sky opened so clearly in front of me, which I had never seen before. A light fog hung heavily over the mudflats, creating a magical aura, cool and melodiously shallow and squeezed. I went back, recorded the music and the beats, and out from that came the title Meereshimmel. To this day, I've never forgotten this picture, as a miracle that remains captured in music forever in my heart and now in your ear.

Chillig in Schillig

I moved to Schillig to finally see the sea. The tide calendar is really a must have of vistiting the North Sea. I ran across the beach and my heart jumped - the sea, there it was. It was a special magic at this time of the year because the rinsed water was slightly frozen and looked a bit like a slushy ice cream. Of course, I did not taste it, but I ran. relatively long at this really beautiful spacious Schilliger beach. The wind whistled at -3 degrees very much around my nose. But I was thick packed in warm clothes, especially because the sun was shining, an incomparable mix of driving, rough and energetic. When running back a wild water feature offered against the dikes lashed. Some joggers and walkers met me despite the cold and I thought how beautiful the sea can be in winter.

Blickweiten
The view over the dike in Schillig offered me a bright winter sun and a wild splash of water to the dike. I stood there for a while, a ship passing over the slightly gray but clear horizon. Deserted and beautiful. A Mysteric atmospheric seasound reached my ear from far away and it was just like a lost place has a lot to tell.

Kopf über Wasser

It was the first song I recorded. I thought about the evening when I arrived, my studio built everything unpacked and set me up in the very comfortable apartment of ‚Krögers Hotel‘ for the next two weeks. I strolled in the direction of Plietsch Restaurant and ordered a beer. There I sat and I felt how slowly the peace moved inside my body. Out of the daily routine, the pressure of the last weeks and months, and was looking forward to two exciting weeks in front of me, with new impressions and completely free and relaxed making music days.

Hafenruhe
In absolute silence lay the harbor on the Neuharlingersiel, a light metallic hammering and the seagulls broke the silence. At the top of the dyke path you could see everything pretty well, hardly any traffic, no people. Just rest and a quiet, wind-blowing history from busy summer hustle in my head, at this now lost port in winter.

Frühstück am Sonntag

I was awake relatively early, I got up at 8 and shuffled slightly sleepy in my pajama pants to the popular Sunday breakfast in Plietsch. Everyone was finely dressed, cups and plates clinked in the crowd and the buffet queue was very long. It was plentiful with freshly baked rolls, pancakes to make yourself, fresh fruit, smoked salmon, sausage, cheese and everything your heart desires for breakfast. I retired with a coffee in a quiet corner and looked at the Sunday driving from afar. I did not let myself be disturbed and enjoyed breakfast while the sun was shining while I recorded the atmosphere my microphone in the background. Slow down and dissolved joyful people at Plietsch Restaurant, with coffee fragrance and Sunday rolls. Then ‚Moin“ as the Native of the North like to say.

Meer Liebe

Meer Liebe developed in the weeks before, in my nocturnal piano night sessions, in which I am playing to myself, in full anticipation of my album project, which was waiting for me during this holiday stay. Images in my head of a free open sea inspired my creativity and it broke out of me to write a euphoric energetic piece that reflected for me the freedom, wildness and openness of the sea and should crown my album. Originally the title was Seamotions, but because of the location we decided to stay with the German - so it called „Meer Liebe“ now.

Sonnenkuss

Summer is nice, it's warm, people are driving out and the holiday is close enough. I was fortunate enough to enjoy the sun on my way to the various stands. And often the sky and the air was completely clear, that one gets a mad view over the expanses, open fields of Ostfriesland. With the big wind turbines offers a breathtaking picture in a late afternoon sunshine, which is really hard to forget.

Immer mit der Ruhe

It had already passed 5 days, so I sat down at Plietsch Restaurant for a meeting with the owners Kristina and Hermann together, to present the direction for the album. I drank a sensationally good sea buckthorn cranberry tea and watched the daytime running of the two. The mood was busy, busily leaning over mountains of paper and paper, with calendars and laptops scattered around the table as calls and voice messages flew across the table. I immediately felt the urge to do something like a so-called, should I check my emails? An order has come in, I'll finish soon. And I leaned back, pulling the thought out of my head and breaking out of that urgent feeling of having to do something. And already the meeting started, my work was still to come, a sip of tea and a wonderfully relaxed meeting began.

Nachtwellen

Happy hour in the Bar and ready to go, because I was still invited. The chef and his wife regularly celebrate in their log cabin around the corner with friends and neighbors. I enjoyed the rest and my caramel tea to my favorite meal, Matjes' and then it started. A funny round of girls and boys awaited me, which I already knew from the Plietsch team. With a full private Bar and loud music, the evening started, and the rest is and remains history.

Schön plietsch bleiben

The title says everything as it sounds. Every time I enter Plietsch Restaurant, I encounter a happy, energetic atmosphere with a pinch of country idyll. The people here usually eat in small groups or family rounded groups, celebrate loud birthday next door, and if I'm not booked to DJ, to refresh the mood with my set, it sounds from the boxes a good Best of Housemixes' playlist, from the bar through the rooms. So ‚Stay plietsch‘.

Übrigens…

... I'm tired in the morning at first and the first thing I do - sleepwalking coffee, made by hand with my Italian coffee maker (a friendly neighbor lend me his, since I had missed mine to take). My days started wonderfully timeless in Krögers Hotel, because I was awake very early every day and had no real obligations before 10-11 clock except the self-imposed, so I enjoyed the 2-3 hours in slow motion and let the day sometimes be day.all at my own pace.

Träume im Sand

It was almost noon when I was walking on the Neuharlingersiel beach on the sand, already on the way back to the car. It is January and unfortunately too cold to paddle barefoot through the sand. A family of joyfully shrieking children ran past me and for a brief moment a breeze of summer was in my ear. I decided to go to the sea again in summer to make my barefoot walk at comfortable temperatures.

Tag und Meer

It was the first day after my arrival. Two weeks I had in front of me and I drove in anticipation to Dornumersiel, unpacked my camera and my micro and made my way to the beach. It was January frosty with minus 1 degree but the sun was cloudless over all of Ostfriesland. When walking over the dike, I met a few strollers, slightly frozen water and a light breeze gave me a peaceful picture of peace and aroused my discoverers euphoria. I took a few steps in the walk over the frozen sand and small icy puddles and through the meadows. The result was a slightly icy but soothing sound in the title ‚Tag und Meer‘.

Intro - Esens Calling

It attracted me many times magically when I had played in clubs in East Frisia. To switch off and making music is heading me to the north again - this time for a full two weeks. The Intro is the beginning of my wonderful music Journey, and I can tell you, the sea is always beautiful, but in winter this area and the sea have a different kind of magic, not only because of the peace and deserted places. The sea and nature have a breathtaking charisma.
