Melodrama is the second studio album by New Zealand singer Lorde, released on 16 June 2017 through Republic Records. Lorde wrote and produced the album alongside Jack Antonoff, with additional production contributions from Frank Dukes, Malay, Andrew Wyatt, Joel Little and Flume, among others.

In December 2013, Lorde announced that she had begun writing material for her second studio album. In June 2014, Lorde said that her second studio album was in its early stages and that, so far, it was "totally different" from her debut album. In November 2016, Lorde posted a Facebook update that read: "Writing Pure Heroine was my way of enshrining our teenage glory, putting it up in lights forever so that part of me never dies, and this record – well, this one is about what comes next. ...The party is about to start. I am about to show you the new world." Lorde revealed the title of the album on 2 March 2017. The album was recorded over an 18-month period with co-writer and co-producer Jack Antonoff.

The album is about a "grapple with loneliness" in the aftermath of a break-up, according to the New York Times. In the article, Lorde mentions that "Melodrama wasn’t a 'breakup album" and stated that "it’s a record about being alone. The good parts and the bad parts, dealing with themes of heartbreak and solitude".

Pure Heroine is the debut studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde, released on 27 September 2013 by Universal Music Group. An extended version of the album was released on 13 December 2013. Lorde collaborated with producer Joel Little and began planning the project in 2012. After releasing her first extended play (EP) The Love Club EP and its lead single "Royals" in 2013, they continued writing and producing material. Pure Heroine is a dream pop, electronica and electropop album built around minimal production, deep bass and programmed beats. Lyrically, the album discusses youth and critiques of mainstream culture.

Pure Heroine received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who commended its songwriting and production, and praised Lorde's vocal ability. The record debuted at number one on the Official New Zealand Music Chart and the Australian ARIA Charts. Pure Heroine performed strongly on international record charts, reaching number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 and charting within the top-ten in eight additional countries. Pure Heroine was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. The album was also notable for its impact on present-day pop music and its challenge to modern-day artists.

The lead single, "Royals", was a critical and commercial success, topping the charts in Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States where Lorde became the first solo New Zealand act to top the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the youngest act to do so since Tiffany's 1987 single "I Think We're Alone Now". "Tennis Court" was subsequently released as the album's second single and charted in multiple countries. "Team" was released as the third single from the album, charting within the New Zealand, Canada and the United States top ten, and in the Australian top twenty. "No Better" and "Glory and Gore" were released as the fourth and fifth singles, with the former only included in the extended edition of Pure Heroine.

Dreamcatcher says earth is being destroyed… warns environmental destruction.

Girl group Dreamcatcher, which has a unique universe, attempted transformation once again with the second album "Apocalypse: Save us," with 14 songs. “Apocalypse means the end, destruction, and disaster. The earth, our home, is being destroyed and hurt. This album warns the listeners about how it’s being ruined,” explained Dreamcatcher in the online showcase for the second album, on Tuesday. Dreamcatcher rejected the existing concept of K-pop girl groups which can be divided into confidence or loveliness and captivated global fans with a series of sometimes dark and sometimes bizarre concepts since their debut in 2017. In particular, the group attracted attention overseas by releasing songs based on the metal rock in the K-pop market, which is based on pop and hip-hop. 

The "Apocalypse” is the group’s third series after "Nightmare" and "Dystopia," and is planned as a trilogy. The group once again showed off their individuality in this album. The title of the album, which means "end," is unusual, and the title song "MAISON" deals with the heavy theme of environmental destruction instead of love and breakups. "Know it’s too late when you regret the invisible future. Isn't it strangely hot? The laws of this planet are like your conscience drying up,” voiced Dreamcatcher sarcastically at people who don't care about environmental destruction and climate change in the song. The group ends the song with an appeal, “Please, someone fight for us,” asking the listeners to protect our home in the jungle, polar regions, sea, and desert. Yoohyeon explained, “‘Maison’ means house in French and earth, our home, is losing itself due to people,” adding, “The song contains Dreamcatcher’s message to people who destroy the environment.” The second album also includes the song “Locked Inside A Door,” which expresses the strong will to live as an individual rather than meet other people’s standards, and “Always,” a ballad song with a beautiful melody. The seven members each added their self-written and self-composed solo songs to this album.
