Petar Dundov continues to sculpt sound as though it were architecture in motion. In “Prime Omega”, he resists the tyranny of drops and hooks, instead unfolding as a slow alchemy — each filter shift and synth ripple a tectonic movement, drawing the listener deeper into its orbit. It’s not simply dance music, but an exploration of time stretched across rhythm, a liminal space between trance and techno where structure dissolves into sensation. 

“Obsession” walks the shadowed corridor, darker and more austere. This is sound of hypnosis and introspection. He doesn’t merely compose tracks — he engineers environments, immersive and unyielding, where beauty reveals its dangerous edge and obsession becomes the only compass.

KiNK - LIVE AT COCOON IBIZA - CORMIX058

As we reach the 19th year of Cocoon’s residence on Ibiza, the location may have changed from Amnesia to Pacha, but the enthusiasm for perhaps the most enduring party on the Mediterranean island is guaranteed to continue.  Actually, only the sun, sea and wind are more reliable!  

The celebrated live sets of Bulgaria’s life wire Strahil Velchev aka KiNK have been a vital ingredient for the ecstatic nights over the years. With unprecedented regularity, the man from Sofia has been voted best live act by readers of Groove magazine for the last three years, and in 2017 he was also crowned best electronic music producer. As KiNK, together with Sven Väth, celebrate one of the most popular evenings of this year’s season as well, what could be more logical than to repurpose the famed Cocoon Ibiza Mix CD series into another live document of the event?  
No sooner said than done, and so here the Bulgarian offers a 70-minute cross-section of his skills. Well-known tracks, especially from last year's "Playground” LP (Running Back) meet exclusive, unreleased material in a spontaneous tour de force through the history of electronic dance music. There are distinctive nods to Chicago and Detroit, jazzy organs spiralling into string-drenched skies ("The Russian"), insatiable acid excursions ("Five") and heavy duty discoid workouts ("Use The Rhythm", "Perth") as KiNK’s irresistible nature strikes repeatedly at the heart of the dance floor.  

The message as always is “gute Laune!” (good vibes!), if we are allowed to borrow that sacred phrase for just a moment...

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
