Bari-based talent Fedele’s Obscura Music label continues to go from strength to strength as a pioneering platform for avant-garde techno music with a leftfield twist. Following a string of poignant releases earlier in the year, the label returns in November with a generous serving of its undeniably unique sound palate provided by a carefully handpicked selection of celebrated electronic names.

Heading the bill, label boss Fedele is joined by a worthy cast of adversaries, including Damon Jee, Stephan Barnem, Works of Intent, Odd Oswald, VNTM, Rez Dorsia, Golden Virgo, Emitr, Juanito State, and Dustin Holtsberry.

Spanning thirteen tracks, The Sound Of Obscura takes you on a spirited journey through a myriad of different genre-loosened vibes. Whether it’s the marauding grittiness ‘Starfield’, the resonant darkness of ‘Healing’ or Works Of Intent’s ‘Limitless Leisure’ that spins you full of synth-rich electro-laced vocal goodness, the collectively pleasant lean away from mainstream techno and focus on sonic storytelling delivers a firm reminder of Fedele’s appeal and his artistic vision for Obscura.

Nestled between a freshly-squeezed Fedele cut, you’ll find a library of different tales. From the afro-infused glitchiness of Rez Dorsia’s ‘Ultra Lux’ right through to the pounding warehouse persona of Golden Virgo’s ‘Canadian Swinger’, it’s a celebration of everything compilations should be variety, creativity, boldness and energy, all wrapped up in an artistically digestible ball for you to enjoy on the dancefloor or the comfort of your own home.

Our second reference for 2021 comes from a great friend of us, Oscar L. Having released tracks by labels such as Drumcode or Truesoul among many others including Beatfreak Recordings, he returns to the label this time with a collaboration with our label boss D-Formation. A collaboration that undoubtedly shows the taste of both and that will surely make all lovers of good music enjoy. On a remix duty we also have one of the producers who we like the most at the moment. Hollt from Netherlands brings us his characteristic sound that makes a perfect complement to this release, melodic techno in its purest form.

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
