A dance music auteur with a decade-spanning career under his belt, MACEO PLEX is a man with many faces, having successfully rebranded global floors since the early noughties under various monickers, including his well-known Maetrik guise. But with power comes responsibility, as they say, and if there's one producer constantly hitting the right balance between underground antics and overground charade, it's the US-bred, Barcelona-based artist. A case in point would be future prime time banger CONJURE SUPERSTAR, a critical, yet highly danceable reading of current DJ hypes.

The rise of @patrice-baumel since last's years now ironically titled "Surge" (KOMEX89) has been steady for good reason - positivity, passion and a lot of hard work. With his days as a resident of TROUW well behind him and now a key member of the KOMPAKT family, he has had what one would call a breakthrough year. There's that remix of CUBICOLOR that was nearly impossible to avoid. Then there's been a steady stream of remixes for SASHA & POLIÇA, MAX COOPER, DAMIAN LAZARUS and DEPECHE MODE. Oh yeah, he's also become a part of the AFTERLIFE crew and put out an EP called "Glutes". Welcome to "Sorcery" - a catch and release techno roller that ripens with a fundamental percussion lead.

After a 9 month hiatus, Diynamic Music returns with the 12th edition of its famed “Four To The Floor” EPs. The label’s very own various artist series, which is always comprised of four dancefloor-oriented tracks that have one special quality in common: they have all been heavily road tested and certified by label boss Solomun on his countless gigs all over the world. 

Opening the record is “Monster” by Matthew Dear, his personal ode to the kickdrum. His eldritch voice almost turns into a haunting spiritual ceremony by singing eerie chants and entrancing phrases.
Up next is “Reaktor” by ELAX, an artist you have never heard from before, because it is a new moniker of Alex Ridha aka Boys Noize. This hypnotizing anthem would be the best possible soundtrack for the worst possible nuclear meltdown.
The third track comes from Denis Horvat and is called “Madness Of Many”, a gloomy melodic Techno track for those late hours at the club. 
Closing off the 12th instalment of “Four To The Floor” are Animal Picnic & Novakk with “Khokana”. Their contribution to the record is a driving and dreamy Deep House tune, certain to provide for closed eyes and raised hands on dancefloors everywhere.

Booka Shade deliver their Rosebud EP for John Digweeds Bedrock imprint this November, featuring three new original tracks from the Berlin duo.

Blaufield Music founders Booka Shade have long been respected figures in the contemporary electronic music scene having racked up a handful of crossover cuts amongst their regular output aimed towards more underground realms. Here we see them focusing on the latter with a new EP for the esteemed Bedrock label, headed up by John Digweed and home to material from the likes of Guy Gerber, Guy J, Eagles & Butterflies and of course the label founder himself.

Booka Shade : "We have been extremely fortunate in our careers having our music released on many revered and renowned labels. We are particularly humbled and proud to have DJ legend John Digweed pick three of our tracks for a release on Bedrock."

Title-track Rosebud leads with an amalgamation of dark and brooding bass tones, percussive chimes and a bubbling arpeggio lead at its core whilst ethereal voices and resonant leads ebb and flow within.

Lust 2.1 follows with the focus on tension building atmospherics, metallic percussive rolls echoing vocal chops before marimba like synth tones and chugging arpeggios take the spotlight to tail out the composition.

In Velvet then rounds out the package with elongated subs, sweeping atmospherics and a choppy synth sequence all dynamically evolving and unfolding around an organic drum groove driving the composition.

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
