New Jersey's finest returns to Ovum alias free. Having been contractually locked down in 2011Harry Romero's previous Philly outing came under his secretive Vaggio pseudonym. The air of mystery surrounding the artist frustrated and excited in equal measure and yet refreshingly freed the EP of any preconceptions. This was after all a debut release, right? The response was overwhelming and lit the touchpaper for what was soon to be Harry's return to his beloved raw house beats.

Those trademark drums were in full effect again at the tale end of last year with the release of 'The Butcher' on Circus Recordings. Meaty by name and nature the ep confirmed that Harry had lost none of his trademark Latin-infused swing. A trait also at the forefront of his 'You Get Deep' EP. 

The new tracks serve up a full Romero menu with Get Deep displaying a groove-heavy swing and a spritely arpeggiated synth that dances throughout. Not Yet lets rip with its scything beats and a twisted rubbery baseline that will provoke an erotic response from the floor.

Drawn from the Chicago label's 2012 compilation Livin' For The City EP, the piano dappled joy of "Exodus" luxuriates across side A, spreading the good word with a pounding beat. "We Don't Need No Music (Thank You, Rahaan)" from SCRS004 takes another whirl around the dancefloor, its pinwheeling horns and infectious vocals pulling even wallflowers into the fray. And in case two remastered sure-shots aren't enough, the brand new "Who Do You Need" closes the record with a soulful thwack: half uplifting house, half blistering techno -- all peak-time fodder. A fine addition to the Black Madonna's discography alongside records for Argot, The Nite Owl Diner, Hometaping Is Killing Music, and of course Stripped & Chewed.

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
