Tribute to a track and an artist who both heavily influenced me, i'm very happy to present you this reinterpretation of the ultra classic Diabla (heavenly mix) from Funk D'Void. I presented it to him for the first time on his twitch channel www.twitch.tv/funkdvoid, and Funk made me the honor of playing it a couple times since then.
Picked up and played as well by Laurent Garnier on his first gig since 18 months, this track suddenly gained interest. Thanks to Funk and Soma i'm able to offer it on my Bandcamp.

We’re kicking off the new year in style with a fantastic new double header by RAXON. This Egypt-born, barcelonese powerhouse has left his scent marks all over the place in recent years. He has developed an instantly recognizable sound and that’s no small feat in these times shaped by so much formulaic dullness. “Your Fault” sees our Catalan hot shot in an exuberant disco mood. Mind bending chord progressions foiled with Raxon’s trademark vocal stutters guarantee for wonderfully twisted hands in the air moments. With “Beskar” we’re entering Star Wars nerd territory. Jedipedia says, Beskar is a uniquely resistant iron that develops a wide range of properties - and colors - in the hands of skilled metalsmiths. Alright. Musically speaking, we’re dealing with a stealthy, funky as hell trance-not-trance juggernaut. 2024 is off to a good start!

Long overdue, we are happy to welcome Damiano von Erckert to Cocoon Recordings with his debut single, bringing late summer vibes that were well worth the wait. Damiano's lovely energy shines through in this EP, resulting in music that blends soulful character with his signature house sound.

“Steam (Staub Mix)” lifts your spirits from the very first beat, and the summery vibe of the housey Rhodes piano brings a smile to your face. Yet, the track retains a somewhat wistful and melancholy feel. Skillful intonation gives the break a jazzy feel, it's this friction that makes it special. Von Erckert showcases his skill with this playful arrangement, sure to have dancers' hands reaching skyward. The second track “Das Was Not Around” is a masterclass in purism, where simplicity meets profound emotion. Swirly synth pads unfold to create a dreamy, immersive atmosphere, pulling listeners into its depths. Years of simmering mutual admiration between Turbo and Architectural finally erupt with Good Night, Whatever That Is, the Asturian producer's first release on the label. 

Nothing gets us hot and bothered like the prospect of featuring a true artist on Turbo. In fact, we are so f-ing jazzed to be working with techno genius Architectural that we even dropped scrappy “fun-house” producer Archie Textures from our roster to avoid confusion.

The Good Night, Whatever That Is EP imbues the timeless platonic forms of techno with an energy, craft and depth that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has built a cathedral with their bare hands. And yet  the unadulterated power of lead single “Steampunk” and the even-less-adulterated power of “Tubular Funk,” confirm that this release also has one foot squarely planted on the secular dance floor, coursing with the searing bio-fluids that drive and torment all sexual beings. Laurent Garnier has handpicked six fresh tracks for COD3 QR's first release of 2025: [QR]D.024.HDZ.25.

Dukwa kicks things off with “Waves.” A seasoned Italian DJ and producer, Dukwa has been honing his craft for over a decade. From his early solo work on Bosconi to releases on Don’t Be Afraid, Numbers, Shall Not Fade, and his own Dukwa Music, his sound has evolved into something raw, punchy, and always meticulously crafted with hardware, sampling, and editing.

Next up is Victor Santana with “Jilter All Day.” A Madrid-based DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Victor has always been dedicated to uniting the crowd through music. Having released on labels like Subsist, EPM Music, and Motech, he’s also the founder of Chaval Records, an imprint set to make waves soon.

Hard To Tell (Roy & Roi) bring the energy with “Feeling Alright.” Known for their hypnotic grooves, they fuse Detroit techno, house, new wave, and breakbeat dynamics into magnetic club bangers. Their tracks have been supported by Dixon and Âme, with recent releases on Secret Weapons, Sums Over Histories, and Siamese.

French artist Squal G brings a driving techno track with “Face.” Passionate about electronic music since the ‘90s, Squal G has dabbled in various styles while staying true to his roots in techno. As the producer and manager of Slates Records, his sound is versatile and ever-evolving.

Danny Daze follows with a gritty electro anthem, showcasing his risk-taking approach to music. A Miami native deeply influenced by the underground Dutch electro and Detroit techno scenes, Daze has expanded his reach beyond techno, working on runway soundtracks for top brands and producing for his label, Omnidisc.

The collaboration between Djoy De Cuba and Joyvan Guevara (aka Djoy De Cuba) brings the atmospheric techno drone of “Vertigo.” Born in Havana and based in Tampa, Florida, Djoy De Cuba is a pioneer of Cuban electronic music and founder of the ROTILLA festival.

Finally, French producer Marcelus (under his alias Rosegreen) closes the EP with the ethereal electronica of “Lotus.” A discreet yet respected figure in the techno world, Marcelus has built a strong reputation with releases on Deeply Rooted House, Tresor, and his own Singular Records, as well as a residency at Berlin's Tresor club.

This diverse EP represents the breadth and depth of COD3 QR’s ongoing sonic exploration, bringing together some of the most exciting names in electronic music today.

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
