Long overdue, we are happy to welcome Damiano von Erckert to Cocoon Recordings with his debut single, bringing late summer vibes that were well worth the wait. Damiano's lovely energy shines through in this EP, resulting in music that blends soulful character with his signature house sound.

“Steam (Staub Mix)” lifts your spirits from the very first beat, and the summery vibe of the housey Rhodes piano brings a smile to your face. Yet, the track retains a somewhat wistful and melancholy feel. Skillful intonation gives the break a jazzy feel, it's this friction that makes it special. Von Erckert showcases his skill with this playful arrangement, sure to have dancers' hands reaching skyward. The second track “Das Was Not Around” is a masterclass in purism, where simplicity meets profound emotion. Swirly synth pads unfold to create a dreamy, immersive atmosphere, pulling listeners into its depths. Despite its introspective title, a sense of hopefulness permeates the track, as if reaching for light through the shadows. As the beats develop, they evoke a profound sense of reverence and nostalgia, seamlessly blending classic house influences with a modern edge. It's a track that honors the roots while confidently advancing the frontiers of contemporary house music. "Fantazia 93" is a nostalgic dive into a ‘90s House vibe, channeling the essence of that unforgettable era with authenticity. Damiano's signature sounds are front and center, infusing the track with a unique touch that’s fresh while reminiscent of classic house anthems. Cristian zanotti is an Italian-born, Berlin-based DJ whose journey into music
began with performing arts, long before stepping onto the dance floor. He
started DJing in the mid-2010s in Barcelona's queer scene. Relocating to Berlin
and immersing himself in its underground culture profoundly shaped his
musical identity, allowing him to explore deeper and darker sounds. He is a
resident DJ of the after hour party Smash.

Following EPM's recent vinyl collaboration with Paris' Yoyaku on Reel By Real's "Surkit – Remixed and Remastered", EPM present a new project, again with a French touch. Madben returns (this time solo) for the "Groove On EP".

Born in the North of France, Madben has retained a taste for DIY culture and a nickname that comes direct from the warehouse. The Lille resident has been "living" techno since his emergence in the scene. From the 1990s, he followed this new scene closely via the flyers he found at local record stores. With his friends, he spent nights in Belgium; Fuse in Brussels, Kozzmozz parties in Ghent or in disused factories in Kortrijk - free and perfect territory to listen to the best sounds of the time.

In 2010, Benjamin put his savings into a rudimentary studio, a pair of speakers, a monitor, a MIDI keyboard and a computer equipped with Reason and Ableton and eventually starts broadcasting it in real time on Soundcloud. Pushed by his friends, he sends demos to Laurent Garnier who immediately responds: Garnier plays a track on his radio show, It is What It Is, on Le Mouv. Madben's name begins to grow and he teams up with Brest festival Astropolis, a French electronic institution, before launching his own label.

Now numerous releases and three albums into his career (two solo productions and one collaboration as Trunkline with Yann Lean), Madben is a steady pair of hands both behind the decks in clubs such as Berghain (Berlin), Printworks (London), Awakenings and De Marktkantne (Amsterdam) or as a producer on labels such as Astropolis, Maceo Plex's Ellum, Skryptom Records, Fedele's Obscura and Berlin based Mobilee.

Following last summer's "We Hit Drums EP" alongside Kosme, Madben continues his alliance with EPM, highlighting that techno not only needs clubland raw power but also that all important groove.

Kick-starting with a rattling break, "Groove On" builds into a club busting roof-raiser, complete with strings, stabs and a party call to arms! "Celebration" wraps itself around a melody that is sonically stamped with Motor City DNA throughout, whilst "My Groovy Animoog" toughens the beat with dark industrial undertones that echo '90s European techno. Closing out we have the hypnotic crunch of "Don’t Mess With My G", where sinister beats meet the darker side of the Windy City.

Living in the shadows between techno and house, "Groove On" draws from Detroit, Chicago and rave culture with equal measure. The very essence of Madben.

Senso Sounds collects together a fantastic remix package of Oliver Huntemann’s 'Propaganda' album. The longplayer
dropped last year to much fanfare, richly deserving the praise for one of the longest serving techno dons in the European
scene. First up is Brazilian DJ and producer Alex Stein. His take on 'Taktik' is a suitably muscular approach, building the track
around a thick, urgent pulse and proving ample space for tension-building slices of metallic FX.
Argentinian Shall Ocin flips 'Egoist', bringing about very different results - a euphoric peak time burner with huge amounts of
energy. Senso mainstay Carlo Ruetz takes on 'Der schwarze Kanal', and digs into an early groove that never lets up, building slowly
over the tracks entirety. Hamburg's own Hatzler brings his special talents to 'Absurd', and delivers a slick, powerful cut that unfolds over almost eight minutes of joy.
Canadian Minimal Techno producer Marc Houle turns his attention to 'Poltergeist', flipping the original into a streamlined
slice of robo-techno, sharp as a knife with shards of percussion and killer synth stabs.
'Rotlicht' is presented in its full glory and joined by a tough-as-nails remix by Raxon. The Egyptian DJ and producer, born
and raised in the United Arab Emirates, locks deep into the groove and adds his own delicious spin to the track.
'Trick17' is giving an Alternative Remix by Senso regular Distale. The Berlin resident provides a Beatport exclusive mix with
more of a driving groove, and brings the arpeggiated synths to the fore.

Cocoon Recordings has been founded in the year 2000 as a part of the Cocoon Music Event GmbH. Sven Väth has initiated Cocoon Recordings in order to complete the Cocoon platform as a supporting tool for young artists in Electronic Music. The label philosophy is as simple as demanding: helping young producers and DJs to release their music without depending on Major Label structures. The releases can mainly be assigned to the genres Techno and House.

Cocoon Recordings as a label and Sven Väth as an artist stand for the use of vinyl as sound carrier, also in the future. Admittedly, the Digital Division of Cocoon Recordings has also been set up in 2008 and the numbers of downloads are indeed enjoyable. However, the label's focus is on vinyl, now and in the future. In order to complete the range of services that Cocoon Recordings offers, the publishing company Cocoon Publishing was founded in 2010.
