Having established the label's sound over the past year or so through expansive and dynamic releases from Anna Gram, DART and label head Hammer, Remmah returns with a new 5-track EP from Irish duo Long Island Sound (@longislandsoundeire).

First Contact is a five-track EP that pulls off the trick of being both epic and intimate. From the title track to closer Wind & Rain, it showcases the duo's ability to traverse genre and era through their blend of breakbeats, acid lines, subtle sampling and ambient washes. Lead single 'Memory' provides the most dancefloor-focused cut of the selection with its driving synths providing an intense release.

The EP follows fellow Dubliner DART's label debut as another example of exciting production talent emerging from Ireland. The duo of Rob Roche & Tim Nolan first started working together in 2015 and made their breakthrough with a debut EP for Bobby Analog's Body Fusion imprint in 2019. Releases on Melbourne's Kyoku Records and their own Signs of Space label followed thereafter, along with an appearance on Maribou State's 209 Fabric Presents mix compilation.

Markus Swarz - Inception [Leisure]

"Alfonsvs bring their 2016 to an end with a beautiful 3 track EP, on their own new imprint: Fluxus."

"44th Romance", is the track that gives the EP its name. It's a dark breakbeat cut, with a subtle use of the amen break sample, a strong bassline, and bass and techno music influences. The lyrics in the middle are related to the inevitability of the arrival of a new loved one.

"Us" was done in conjunction with the dutch singer Eline van der Does, from a very well known touring dutch Jazz Band. The collaboration started with the singer's curiosity around the world of techno and house, when one of the Alfonsvs guys opened it a bit to her, and despite her complete lack of any techno knowledge, both came to realize the possibilities they had for a collaboration. This is not the last piece of work to come out between the two artists.

"There Was You" was a track that since the early beginning had the support of the italian duo Hiver. This is a dub techno track that opens itself up with the use of different reverbs, spacial delays and the use of some acoustic percussion, giving the EP's overall feeling a more dance floor focus.
