Coda Mix 006 - GFA

Stephen Mahoney has been an avid record collector and selector for many years, Pascal Feos and Gataneo Parisio being early influences. Throughout the late 2000’s he was involved with various Collectives and DJ’d various venues of the cities underground. Stephen also ran Analog Club night which saw Dj sets from Volster & Insolate. Stephen all the while had been producing Eps which saw it’s first release on Coincidence Records and then started Shelter Records which saw releases from Volster , Aubrey, Lars Huismann, Flexure, Ben Gibson and a remix from Lee Holman. Stephen Became one half of duo, Flexure with Jamie Behan which saw two releases and a date at New Faces at Tresor.

A new label is formed now entitled Delinquent Delivery which saw its first releases in the Autumn 2018 from Lockertmatik, Nathan Jones and Stephen Mahoney. Followed by Rustal, Stuey Lyons and Jon Hussey and Jack Jennings. Stephen’s productions have been continuing to garner respect and support from the scenes biggest luminaries and his productions are gaining an International audience.

Coda Mix 008 - Mike Stern

We're back with another instalment of the Coda mix series, and for this one we're drafted in DJ/Producer DJ ANGELDU$t from all the way over in Los Angeles. We've been in contact with him for years and we were proper into the music output of the 138 live act duo he had going on. As part of that collaborative project, the guys were on pretty much every big lineup in LA, and toured extensively over Europe too.....Tresor, Basis, Possession - you name it!  Now he's doing his own thing, and the tracks we've been hearing are sick.

For this mix, it's a nice switch up from the past few mixes we've put out. Expect heavy, broken beats with this one!

A well known face in our clubs for well over 20 years now both DJing and on nights out, for those of you from Belfast, Blark (AKA Blacky) shouldn't really need any introduction. As one of our residents, I can't believe it's taken us until number 12 in the series to get a mix out of him, considering he's never off the decks.

As usual from Blark, expect full pace, smooth mixing and plenty of WEAPPAAANNNNNS!

Well folks, it's time for another mix in the series and for lucky number 13 we have Engineer! Portuguese born, but now calls Belfast his home - we're all fans of his. Last summer he had a massive gig back home in Portugal at Sound Waves Festival, and more recently, Engineer has been showing the crowd in Thompsons what he's got to offer. 

A regular face on the scene in around town, he's been getting noticed a lot more and we're happy to see that! For now though, check out this mix full of the good stuff.

We’re absolutely chuffed to have got a mix from our good friend, and all round legend of the scene, Mr Patrick DSP. We’ve known him for quite some time now, both from bringing him to Belfast to play and also just seeing him in various places over the years. You’ll not meet nicer guy (or better DJ) than Big Pat!

As expected, this mix is straight in, no kissing. Best played nice and loud.

Chris has been on our radar for a while now with his signature hardgroove productions which have made their way into many of our sets.

Heavily inspired by the golden age of techno, his style can be defined as groovy and loop-driven, incorporating a range of tribal influences. He has a fast-growing discography including a back-catalogue of self-releases and a string of releases on prominent labels such as Deadline Records, ASW, PHTM and more.

Taking you on a trip this week we have Romanian classical guitarist turned techno artist Michael Ius. 

Michael Ius is passionate about both hypnotic mixing and dance grooves, focusing on making people dance and constantly reading the crowd. 

He has been tirelessly exploring and refining his production skills and DJ sets, earning the support of prominent underground DJs such as Marron, Alarico, Alberto Tolo, Dave Clarke, Insolate, Lobster, and many more.

Fresh off the press we are honoured to showcase this technical masterclass from the legend that is GAMADON.

GAMADON (aka GAvin MAc DONagh) started collecting records and DJing in Dublin in 1996. He was born in Galway, grew up in Mullingar and is now based in London. He runs the Warehouse Manifesto record label.

The initial vinyl releases on Warehouse Manifesto Records are electro with some techno releases planned for 2024, all focused on tough, hard-hitting, underground sounds. 

The Warehouse Manifesto mix series’ guests include Ben Sims, Claude Young, Joey Beltram as well as our very own Nez & Dallas. 

Gavin has been DJing and running parties since the late nineties in his town of Mullingar and as far as Vancouver and Bermuda. He supported The Prodigy in Berlin, Hanover, Prague and Luxembourg during their 2015-16 tours. 

Next, he joins Controlled Weirdness and Gunfinger Food for their ‘Electro &amp; Beyond’ night in Planet Wax, London on 30th September. 

It goes without saying, this is serious !

Kicking us off this week we have Cormac Farley/i decided who is a cracking upcoming producer and DJ from North Dublin. 

Heavily inspired by the sound of the late 90s and early 00s with a blend of hypnotic, loopy and dynamic atmospheric sounds akin to soundtracks from the golden age of classic Science Fiction and Horror films, an approach he brings to both to his mixes and productions. 

Following his sophomore release on Tremors Glasgow based label Oscillator One, he has garnered support for his tracks from artists globally such as Egotot, Radical Softness, Egotot, Franz Jäger, Alarico and more.

Liam Chambers, known as 'HOOLIGAN,' is an Irish DJ and producer whose techno style draws inspiration from the dark, underground scenes of Berlin. His music is characterized by a fusion of rolling basslines and heavy hypnotic sequences, ultimately blending the old with the new.

Through the integration of distinctive and evolving sounds, he takes his listeners on a captivating journey, offering a potent auditory experience that's seamlessly woven with his trademark rolling groove.

He is no stranger to the electronic music scene in Ireland, where he runs the Kriptik collective renowned for organising events in unique locations after hours and the annual 'Kriptik Music and Arts Festival' .

Outside of the club scene Hooligan has also been busy on the production front, boasting releases on Diffuse Reality, Research Label and Motz Berlin. Expect some new material very soon.

Coda Mix 032 - Nez

Púca is a mythological concept based on the Island on Ireland, it is a creature that would pick up people at the end of a night and take them on a wild ride through nature and different dimensions before dropping them off at the place where they were first found. That’s also the  idea with mixes to take the listener on a wild sonic trip, but to try leave them in a better mood than when Púca found them. 

Having lived in Amsterdam for six years and played across different venues around Europe, the sound of Púca is more refined and confident. Able to push their way of thinking through many different styles and tempo, the journey is always ever evolving. Using 3/4 decks they flip between moods and build tension, Púca is a true storyteller.

Keeva G is a Donegal-born DJ and long-time raver whose deep-seated love for music has taken her around the world to attend some of the best clubs and parties. Keeva has fully immersed herself in the local techno scenes of cities in which she has lived, such as Amsterdam, London, and New York.

Now based in Belfast, Keeva has spent the last couple of years transitioning from the dancefloor to the DJ booth. Taking inspiration from dancefloors across the globe, her sets are characterised by an infectious energy and groove, earning her notable bookings at If You Know You Know festival, Coda at the Ulster Sports Club in Belfast, and some upcoming festivals in the 2024 season.

Although Keeva is only beginning her journey as a DJ, she's already received support from some of Ireland's favourite festivals and collectives.

Coutts / Gordon Coutts is a DJ / Producer from Northern Ireland, who has been DJing for over 25 years, playing at events all across the UK and Ireland and beyond, including Godskitchen, Planet Love and Ibiza and headline sets at many events.

He made his name on the production front in the mid 2000's onwards with his distinctive brand of Tech-Trance, with a string of sucessful releases on labels such as Vandit, Spinnin, Fraction, Aria, Tangled Audio and many more.

In recent years he has embraced his Techno oriented side side and has been releasing and playing as 'Coutts', with releases on Hydraulix, Refined Format, Black Square, Physical Techno Recordings, Mechanikal, Pure Dope Digital and White Line Music amongst many more.

Gordon is also A&R for Keep On Techno Records, taking on the role in 2022 after being a core artist on the label for a number of years.

Next up on the pod we've got Irish Techno legend Doug Cooney with a scorcher of a mix comprised of 100% of his own productions. 

A key figure in Ireland's techno scene, Doug Cooney is known for his technical mastery behind the decks and deep commitment to the genre’s growth. Being a founding member of RLSD Records, he has released on respected labels like Counterchange, Frenzy, NN Records, Orbis, and GND. Doug has played alongside legends such as Dave Clarke, James Ruskin, and Mark Broom, with standout performances at Tresor and HöR in Berlin. His tracks have earned support from techno heavyweights like Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, and Rødhåd. Doug shares his passion for techno by teaching DJ & Music Production Techniques alongside Sunil Sharpe and at Real Sound, a private music school, he invests in the future of techno through masterclasses and artist development programs.

A true talent which you don't want to miss, enjoy.

Niall is a 22-year-old DJ & Producer born and raised in Galway but now based in Bray, Co. Wicklow. He shares a passion for a multitude of genre’s & subgenre’s of electronic music, although his true sound lies within the Tribal, Hypnotic & loop-driven techno realm. 

He has performed all around Ireland, with multiple headline shows in Galway, Limerick, Sligo, Dublin & Belfast with festival appearances at Life Festival & Electric Picnic in 2023. His solo performances have taken him internationally of recent too, with shows in Glasgow, London, Norwich, Amsterdam & Berlin. He has also supported acts such as Dave Clarke, Hector Oaks & X-Club.

Niall dived into the production world in March 2023, and it has been a successful one so far with 10 releases under his belt, and his tracks garnering support from artists like VTSS, Anetha, Beau Didier, Frederic, La La Selector, Boyz Noize & many more since he released his first track ‘The Dream Team’ in May 2023. With his first EP coming before the end of 2024 and many more projects in the pipeline, he doesn’t show any sign of slowing down!
