Set the Mood is a concept-based mix-series focussing on opening-sets.

Deets is known for providing an easy-grooving, ego-dissolving yet grounding experience since she began DJ-ing as a coping mechanism during the lockdowns. She navigates genres like techno, bass, and house with finesse, always adjusting to the setting and mood to leave a lasting impact on the crowd.

Working like a 'painter of time and space' aiming to move both the human psyche and the body, she blends contrasting elements into one musical journey with her signature explosive yet polished style of layered mixing as her brush.

For Deets, a perfect opening set feels like an embrace upon entering the room, slowly transforming into an energizer. It offers a hint of what's to come, creating excitement for the rest of the event while allowing the audience to enjoy the current moment. If the set is a coherent yet surprising and easily flowing journey that fits well into the bigger picture of the night, she believes it can captivate the audience from the beginning and keep them dancing until their legs feel like cooked spaghetti. Her DJ-ing approach for opening sets is influenced by her preferences as a raver, reading the room, keeping the rest of the program in mind, and increasing the energy when the crowd is ready.

Originating from Munich, Philipp Siegmeth (PSMT) embraced the techno ethos early on, culminating in a move to Berlin at 18. As a resident DJ for OBXENE Berlin, he delved into the harder edges of techno subgenres, defining a sound marked by relentless kicks and driving rhythms.

Austrian musicians Luca Tresque, Joe Haensn, and Rotary Motion have launched a new underground techno label called Splatter that releases music on vinyl and internet platforms.

Astute musicians like Florian Meindl, JANEIN, Franz Jäger, and Fhase 87 have already been signed to the label.

Daniel Heinrich co-runs Berlin-based Inherit Records, which has included music and remixes by Hadone, Arnaud Le Texier, Insolate, Ferdinger, and others. He is back on Splatter after making an appearance on the launch VA, and also has projects released on Diffuse Reality and Elektrotribe in his own production back catalogue.

For this DT:Premiere we selected "Beyond Reality" with a firey, uptempo acid punch. This throbbing missile of energy develops its intensity from a raw groove with modular accents to a gritty and powerful slice of production mastery with the killer vocal hook.
