Following on from label-head Masaya's ‘Angel’ EP that picked up support from the likes of Peter Van Hoesen, Osunlade and Vince Watson, the ever-impressive Mina Recordings is back this March with Sabota & Grenier ‘Two Hands’ with remixes from Sei A and Sam K

‘Two Hands’ is a moody yet powerful opener featuring ethereal and emotive vox that reverberates around whirring atmospherics and soft arpeggios while it’s counterpart, ‘Piece by Piece’ is similarly melodic with honeyed tones, spongey production and hushed vocals mingling with airy pads.

First up for remix duty is Aus & Turbo Recordings man Sei A. For his version of ‘Two Hands’ he tears through to the other end of the musical spectrum with a no-nonsense techno cut cultivated for late hours and dark rooms. Last and by no means least Sam K delves into upbeat percussive rhythms, shimmering modulations and oscillating keys to round things off in deep and dynamic fashion.

This is a story of a young man, traveling ancient countrysides, looking for new emotions to experience.
                    Looking to give more than to get, and understanding the frailty in the notion that nothing is really given to you aside from the very air that you breathe
                    But things are changing now
                    Things are rapidly becoming...very different...than they once were
                    
                    On a southbound train that seems to eat through the German countryside like a mylar saw through wood
                    Like a hammer breaking through old bones
                    My reflections are now turning from the circus mirrors and smoke to framed glass
                    Preparing to separate my interior frailty from the dangers of the outside
                    Those things I do not quite understand
                    I can see hints of colored city kid influence
                    in colorful accents dancing across the foundations of former communist factories
                    Saying, to me, that I've been here before
                    Despite this railway being my virgin transport in this oh so foreign place
                    Chopping through the world I've come to understand as mine
                    Like a lion's teeth through the ribs of a gazelle
                    On a hunt
                    And when we reach Stuttgart
                    I believe I am a man of different thinking
                    My energy replenished with each stop between Hamburg and Munich
                    Visions of Göthe
                    Thomas Mann immortalised by the artistic politics of iron curtains
                    Falling as certain as rain
                    Grape vines growing rooted from the lips of the Rhein see
                    This particular world I'm traveling through
                    Is much older than the world I call mine
                    Today I'm the gunpowder in a continental bullet
                    A cell in this electric vein coursing through the Black Forest
                    My destination just beyond the trees
                    A relatively young man traveling ancient countrysides
                    And newfangled sidewalk technology
                    Looking to give more than to get
                    And understanding the frailty in the notion that nothing is given to you but the air you breathe
                    And the trees that hide my destination
                    Resemble loose hairs on the head of an old gentleman from afar
                    These mountains protecting villages and colonies like a mote
                    Encircling castles of fallen leaders
                    Roughly an hour north of the Munich skyline
                    
                    This trip is very different than any I've been on before
                    I wish I could transmit this experience through American urban radio and whore-house shopping malls
                    To Wall Street executives and stay-at-home moms in the Bible belt
                    Just to say hey look at the world and get off your block
                    Pick up a book
                    Stop watching the clock
                    There is so much more to learn than
                    Trades and monolingual grades
                    To be sure
                    This ride is special
                    This countryside is ancient
                    And many of these things I do not understand
                    But I feel like I've been here before
                    This ride, the thoughts that come with it
                    Tell me to cherish life now because the only real gift given to you is the present
                    The only real gift given to you is right now

Lets Go Outside - Ill Lick-Your Spine (Codename Remix)

    Jason aka Codename grew up in Portland listening to 
    everything in his parent's vinyl collection and dancing in the dark...

    When he first heard Detroit Techno at outdoor party in 
    1994 it brought the realm of beats to the foreground.
    Shortly after that he saved up and bought a set of
    Technics 1200's and began dj'ing, To his collection
    of stuffed animals and any friends brave enough to
    face the fledgling dj's frequent Techno train-wrecks
    in the hopes that they might be able to witness the
    elusive "Totally smooth almost by accident Sick Mix"

    Then, it was an album by Goldie Called Timeless in 1996 when Jason first heard
     The music he had waited his whole life to hear drum n bass!

    It was then that he fell under the magical spell of drum n bass 
    he ate slept and shat drum n bass for 10 years then in 2006 
    he woke up from the single genre nightmare and became 
    diversified.. Well musically anyway...

    In 2005 Jason Codename Watt began his first production 
    efforts, which yielded "much success" with “The Delta” 
     being Signed By Thermal Recordings in 2006.

    Then in 2007 Codename Released “Star e Night" and
    "My Casio Goes all Night VIP” on Aleutian Audio. In 2008

    He finished a co lab album With Rubik Records Boss, 
     Kubiks with tracks entitled “Desimator And Bitsteam”
      Which was released on vinyl in 2009.

    Recently he has focused his production efforts on
    Down tempo dub step core and a bit of proper techno for good measure.
