This song is about addiction. It doesn't get any plainer than that. Many people say addiction is a choice. They are wrong. Addiction is a disease. We may choose to take that first drug, yet we are fooled by it, consumed & spit out, left wanting more of the abuse. Don't be fooled by the deception; addiction is real. Many people across the land struggle with this disease. We must take more action to help people get off drugs should they wish to clean their life up.

Is Nothing What It Seems?

When a person is in the throes of their addictions, they lose touch with who they were and occupy a ghost of their former self. We all do this, none are the exception to this rule. They realize the liars, criminals, deviants they've become as a result of addiction. Either they make choices to care or they make choices to continue the downward spiral. Depression is a huge factor in a person making a decision to get help.
