Moakz's stunning debut album 'The Critical Path', releases on double 12" vinyl and digital on 6th June 2025. Beautifully mastered by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven, and with stunning artwork produced by Clayton Burke, the release finds the artist in fine form, showcasing his cinematic sound in full length for the first time.

After a series of releases over the past four years, the Southampton, UK-based DJ / Producer and co-owner / A&R of Codename: RCRDS finally drops his distinctive debut LP , drawing on influences as diverse as film scores, soul, jazz, post-rock and techno for a warm, deep and often emotional take on the drum and bass / atmospheric drumfunk sound.

The release includes the full LP and 3 digital only bonus tracks.

The immensely talented Finnish producer Mineral returns to Codename: RCRDS fresh from his recent release on Metalheadz with the stunning LP 'Expand The Orbit', and as long time fans of Mineral's unique sound we are delighted to be able to feature him on the label in full length form.

'Hyperspeed' opens the EP on a high with its bouncy dancefloor sound and earworm synth lead perfectly setting the tone, before 'Lost' brings us into the classic Mineral stylings of lush pianos and immaculate rolling breaks. 'Galactic Assault' does exactly what it says on the tin, with storming futuristic synths preparing for attack. 'Adrenalin Levels' shifts things into a darker Techstep direction before the subtle beauty of 'Invisible' reveals itself.

As we move into the 2nd half of the LP 'Stars' draws once again into the artist's signature territory with intricate interwoven melodies and tight drumwork, before the retro-styled rave up 'Stab Request' moves up back towards the dancefloor once again, and the tear-out vibes of 'Partial' hit heavier still.

The LP starts to take a deeper rolling edge with 'Negotiation 17' before heavy duty rollout 'To Expand The Orbit' takes us to the edge of space with it's crunchy breaks and sparse bleep-era vibes, bring us towards the darker edge of the journey before the stunning lush melodies of 'Universal' end the album on a euphoric high.

An stunning album from one of the nicest people we've ever had the privilege to meet in the scene - big up to Ilkka for such an amazing body of work, we are incredibly proud and humbled to be able to release this on the label.

‘The Night Ravers’ is the first release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. The release and label channel the energy of the 90’s rave era, pushing the sound forward into exciting new directions.

Moakz’s original mix marks a movement away from his previous atmospheric and jazz jungle releases, and towards his hardcore roots. Now complemented by storming remixes from the incredible RAVETRX (HooverSound, forthcoming Club Glow), and the release closes out with the superbly talented NonRev and rising star Cold Leader delivering innovative reworks, with this EP provides a marker of intent for the label and collective artists.

Heavily inspired by the music of LTJ Bukem and Good Looking Records, Voyager, DJ Trax, PFM and other 90s legends, you can expect relentless old breakbeats, big 808s and vibey jazz samples all drenched in reverb and nostalgia with a decidedly modern twist.

The EP opens with ‘Never Again’, where lush keys and synth vox’s meet rolling breaks and deep rumbling bass. Things move into an eerier direction with the catchy guitar riff and deep stabbing synth tones of ‘Inconsequential’, before things switch back into a more rolling direction with ‘Have Life Will Travel’.

The stunning ‘Stay With Me’ seamlessly interplays several vocals with rolling breaks and an infectious bassline, before the EP closes with the gorgeous title track ‘Sun At Midnight’.

Atmospheric grand master Okee returns to Codename: RCRDS with two stunning new tracks, which are complemented by reworks from label co-owner Moakz and rising stars Missen.

The EP opens with the title track ‘Soul Temptation’, a sublime jazz-inflected which has all the hallmarks of a classic Okee piece – classic vocals, beautifully precise breaks, percussive bass fills and warm synths and tones.

‘If You Believe’ moves things into a deeper direction, encouraging the listener to believe in its refined combination of stabbing bass, catchy vocals, haunting atmospheres and intricate synth work.

Moakz pushes the track further on his rework of ‘If You Believe’, stripping back elements to pursue a darker edge with the pounding bass brought to the fore alongside chunky deep breaks interspersed with snappy think breaks, before Missen close the EP with their uptempo rework of ‘Soul Temptation’, which retains the soulfulness of the original whilst pushing things further into a bouncier dancefloor direction with it’s locked groove and tightly knitted drums.

In this uncertain world where we are prepared to give up so much of ourselves personally into data harvesting and targeted adverts, is this driving our impulse buys and pushing us to swipe right, or our we in command? How much of our 'desires' are real, and how much are we controlled? In this peak consumerist culture, is what we desire really genuine, or are malign forces driving us ever further towards their goals?

'Controlled Desires' continues a new VA trilogy series for Codename: RCRDS, with several newcomers joining the party for part II.

The EP commences with the hardest working man in mastering, Nurve, bringing the heat with 'Faded Glamour', a tearing dancefloor banger which should find homes in plenty of sets. Ahead of his first full release on the label, Indigo Virus delivers an epic slice of hazy jungle with 'Things Change', before Data B ably demonstrates his beat swordmanship with the dark rolling shaolin number 'Rumble'. The EP draws to a close with another debutant, Joey Del Toro slamming into focus with the amen tearer 'Play That'.

Flipper returns to Codename with his first full length EP for the label, which perfectly demonstrates this incredible artist's unique and flowing multi-instrumental fusion of ethnic vibes with jungle and Drum and Bass rhythms.

Opener ΙΩPOLIS brings you mythical Eastern Mediterranean soundscapes, fusing ancient instruments such as the duduk and santur. Five minutes of non-repetitive electronic music that will captivate and enchant any dance floor.

'Jungle Takes You' drives things into a different direction with its darkcore / junglism influences alongside hypnotic leads, deep strings and rolling breaks.

The second half of the EP looks towards remixes, with Flipper's remix of Toni Bassi's 'Junak' seamlessly adding Greek flavours to the existing Indian mix, before Moakz contributes the melancholic 'Breaking Your System' remix of Flippers 'Don't Blame', a full tailspin of a rework, both evoking memories of classic era 90's hardcore and also packed with emotional punch.]

Flipper - Jungle Takes You

Codename: RCRDS welcomes another label newcomer with Berlin's No_Name, who delivers a phenomenally inventive take on Jungle and Hardcore for a memorable first release on the label.

The rolling 'Fully Dysfunctional' opens the EP, switching effortlessly between ravey stabs and intricately edited drumwork before giving way to 'Lowest State Of Consciousness', where footwork jungle comes to the fore with pounding kicks and deep atmospherics. 'A Thousand Ways To Ruin Your Day' does quite the opposite, a rolling stepper full of deep bass and meticulously edited synth interplay, fully designing to screw up faces all over dancefloors. The EP closes with 'One Of Them', where dreamy 80's synths give way to introspective glitched choppage of the highest order.

A truly label stunning debut from an artist we look forward to featuring more of in the future.

The EP opens with TRC2's deep and rolling 'Distinctive Signals', before ErBass contributes the dark stepper 'Cough'. Gred Lvov's 'Lotus' demonstrates intricate drum choppage alongside its speaker shaking bassline, before NonRev brings the EP and series to a close with the driving rhythms of 'Know Your Place'.

Bluefootjai - The Music Of The Voiceless

The Crate Digs series reaches volume 3 with an absolutely stunning entry from Flipper and Toni Bassi which leans in heavily on early jazz and funk stylings.

Flipper's opener 'Why Do I Still Love You' touches down with a gorgeous brass intro before giving way to uptempo breaks and a haunting and seductive vocals. 'The Big Band Rising' brings the sound of summer, evoking endless festival nights with its swung rhythm track, even dipping briefly into latin grooves.

The first of the Toni Bassi collabs, 'Mardi Brass', reworks it's New Orleans vibes into a rolling liquid number, before 'Mile High Jazz' takes us into deeper rolling territory.

Flipper then contributes the deeper dancefloor vibes of 'Fundamentals' before Toni Bassi turns 'Why Do I Still Love You' on its head with a sun-blissed and deep house-infuenced reworking which cuts deep throughout.

A stunning and varied EP which raises the bar further on the Crate Digs series following the previous instalments.

New Zealand's talented Midnight Dubs makes his Codename: RCRDS debut with 'Generations EP'. This jazz, funk and hip hop inflected release opens with 'Improvise Wisely' where catchy vocal samples entwine with rolling breaks, brass and keys to stylishly open the release. 'Generations' moves in a deeper jazzier direction with steppier breaks and rolling bass evoking classic era atmospheric sounds. '

Love Divine' breaks delicate female vocals into the mix before it's sublime intro gives way to delicately edited drumwork, before 'Cloudbreak' works things further along it's jazzy path before we move onto closing track 'One More Forward' which rolls out into a an altogether darker bleep influence drumfunk rollout - perfect for the heads down dancefloors.

An excellent full debut release from an artist to watch.
