Silk Royal is thrilled to present Silk Remixed 04, the fourth installment of the annual series, featuring various veteran talents and rising stars in progressive. Kicking off the compilation is Nigel Good's jubilant remix of "Sumr" by Dezza & Shoreliners. Fresh off his debut artist album, which reached #1 overall on Beatport, Nigel treats us to a sparkling, complextro-influenced progressive gem, rife with feel-good vibes. Vintage & Morelli, one of the standout artists from Silk's Arrival division, offers a fresh, peak-hour take on "Night Time" by Sound Quelle. A bouncy house rhythm sits below a stormy and evocative lead, punctuated by a haunting vocal sample. The main break is a goosebumps-inducing aural experience, as the vocal motif and piano poignantly coalesce. Aeron Aether's "Synthanelia" still finds a home in our radio and live sets; Jayeson Andel, a breakthrough artist on our imprint, offers a full-on trance stormer with his new rendering, which has received early radio support from Arty. The memorable string themes of the original soar above an adrenalin-fueled, stadium-rocking groove. French talent Matt Fax, another leader of Arrival, offers a new interpretation of one of Silk Royal's early releases, Pconvolve's "Cosmology". As the title implies, celestially-inspired synths transport the listener to the far reaches of the galaxy; a progressive breaks interlude and explosive drop in the latter half of the track are true release highlights. David Broaders closes out the first half of the release with an awe-inspiring interpretation of "Starman" by Gregory Esayan. A thunderous groove resolves into a beautiful piano and string-themed breakdown; these poignant melodies are some of the most enduring from the compilation this year.

New label recruit Illuminor, a rising duo from Australia, add a bit more punch to eleven.five's classic "Pinnacle". A highly innovative groove, as well as new variations on the main piano motif from the original, stand out in this fantastic new version. Trusty label veteran Sundriver offers a driving take on Denis Laurent feat. Kaisa Martina's "All I Need". A vintage lead chord progression, with numerous euphoric synth layers and arpeggios, paves the way for Kaisa's romantic vocal in the breakdown. British sensation Ben Coda, who has contributed in the past to the Silk Remixed series, returns with a peak-hour rendering of Zack Roth's beloved "Tekkadon". A clubby groove crescendoes into the breakdown, where the newly added, trance-influenced lead shines, alongside the memorable original theme. Russian duo Soarsweep, fresh off an EP on parent label Silk Digital, offers another visionary remix; this time, they have accentuated the emotive themes of "Both", originally a collaboration between Blood Groove & Kikis and LTN. Closing out the EP, Harold-Alexis, one of the stars of our chillout division (Silk Sofa), offers a drum & bass rework of Seagrave's "Storm". With bleeding-edge sound design throughout, this emotive track will be appreciated by fans in search of visionary, outside-of-the-box EDM.

A thrilling series of releases by Dan in the proceeding months begins with "No Way Back Up", the first single from his forthcoming "A Sense Of Wonder" artist album. Dan has never shied away from writing emotive vocal anthems; his past Dan & Sam hit "Walls", featuring Maxx Hennard, proved to be one of the most supported singles in the history of our imprint. It is our great joy to present a new collaboration between Dan and Silk veteran duo Illuminor, who not only have been producing trance & progressive hits of their own of late, but who also are capable of writing and performing breathtaking vocals.

In "No Way Back Up", a gentle breakbeat slowly picks up steam, while a variety of bell-tinged hooks and other supporting melodies contribute a lush soundscape. The patient crescendo ultimately culminates into a stunning chorus by Michael Ware of Illuminor, who sings of the tragic dissolution of a relationship. Michael profoundly delivers the metaphor of a fall too painful and far, from which to recover.

One of Silk Royal's most successful and beloved artists, Schodt, returns to the imprint for the first time in nearly a year with the triumphant "Heatwave," a much needed respite from the winter chill of February. With countless classics to his name, including "White Tiger" and "Here With Me," Schodt continued to pad his resume this past year with a #1 hit single on Beatport's trance chart ("Fly Into The Night"), as well as appearances on several massive international DJ compilations. The sound proffered on "Heatwave" is a genre that he has truly mastered -- progressive breaks. The tune begins with hard-hitting breaks and a resonant, meaty bass; soon thereafter, a variety of lush pads and dancing arps soon fill out the soundscape. At the quarter turn, we are given a teaser of the main theme: a signature layered piano and string combo. Later on in the main break, all of the low-end is pulled back, and we are met with the lead melodies in full force: a truly awe-inspiring moment in the track, in which Schodt (once again) succeeds in layering a dazzling array of uplifting arp lines and delicate synth stabs to euphoric effect. 

On remix detail is American progressive star Shawn Mitiska, a proud addition to the label roster. Perhaps best known for his numerous Armada hits as part of the trio Cerf, Mitiska, &amp; Jaren (which have received millions of hits on Youtube, as well as IDMA nominations), Shawn has also produced various gems independently on powerhouse labels Anjunadeep, Enhanced, and more in recent years. His remix is a peak-hour progressive interpretation, centering on the jubilant vibes of the original. In the initial build, a "classic" prog house rhythm makes way for an aggressive bassline groove. Suddenly, in the first of two massive breaks, we are hit with the stunning main melodic motifs, slightly deconstructed and slowed down here for maximum emotional effect. Again, in the main break, we are treated to the ecstatic power chords of the original, with a fierce drop to follow.

For Arrival's 32nd release, we have both a label veteran and a new face: Russian artist Alex Drayling (previously known as Teana & Tiida) and the German-born Aquareef. A pair of phenomenal new originals by these rising talents is showcased on this "Thailand" EP, and an additional remix is provided by Human8. 

"Thailand" begins with a lush atmosphere, including synth stabs and melodious pad lines. Soon, a number of vocal elements are introduced, as well as a spell-binding deep stab sound. Later, the soft yet powerful breakbeat is in full effect, while being accompanied by a stunning piano line. The breakbeat percussion is slowed down in the main break, while numerous synth layers spice up the soundscape. 

Hungarian artist Human8 returns to the Silk family with his interpretation of "Thailand". A deep and well-placed bassline soon hits the soundscape, as well as stimulating percussion elements and sidechained pads. The break introduces a distinctive and mesmerizing deep synth as well as a comforting bell sample, and the main theme and groove continues thereafter. 

The second original, "Air", starts off quite smoothly with a few gorgeous pad lines, and an enjoyable breakbeat is soon established. Numerous sound effects emerge, and in the break a unique arpeggio lead is added that later acts as the main riff. The vocal sample as well as the many synth stabs and effects combine to create a lush and soothing atmosphere.
