Under the watchful eye of Marcus Schossow, Code Red has grown back to being a force within the music industry. The label expands its presence to introduce Code Black: an imprint dedicated to deeper cuts.

Code Red was revived thanks to Marcus' vision, and incredible contributions from himself and other artists in 2017. Artists like Corey James, Özgür Can, SOVTH and more crafted records receiving thousands of streams on the Spotify platform. DJs like Kryder, Hardwell, Tiësto and more included those same tracks in their radio shows. Schossow contributed the massive "Rumble" and titanic hit "Tell Me Why" to the label's renaissance.

There is no artist better suited to kick off the new label's catalog than Marcus himself. He revives his Englafjord alias to deliver "Alone Out There". This new record perfectly captures the intention of the Code Black imprint. With deep, dark basslines and eerie vocals, Englafjord crafts a rich, high-quality deep house record that packs a serious punch. "Alone Out There" proves that Schossow has his finger on the pulse of the ever-changing dance music market.

Code Black ratchets up the intensity with a two-track follow up to "Alone Out There" from Italian talent Beatone.

The fledgling sub-label continues to dedicate itself to a deeper side of the house and techno industries. The aforementioned "Alone Out There," crafted by label boss Marcus Schössow under his Englafjord alias, inaugurated the imprint just one week ago. That record was support on Spotify's Friday Cratediggers playlist.

Beatone creates his own chapter on Code Black through "Valahr" and "Victoria". "Valahr" kicks off the EP on a very edgy vibe. Deep and mysterious sounds dominate this track, captivating the listener with its powerful bassline. "Victoria" is a more refined take, using brighter synths and plenty of potent bass. The EP is a polished example of Code Black's mission to provide only the best techno and deep house-styled tracks to listeners.

Code Black brings more of the best of the underground by welcoming Discoplex's groovy smash "Space".

This hit from Discoplex follows up the fantastic and well-rounded Valahr EP crafted by fellow Italian Beatone. The Code Black imprint continues its hot start, having just been founded by Marcus Schossow and the Code Red team in 2018. The label saw its first release, Englafjord's "Alone Out There," featured on Spotify's Friday Cratediggers playlist.

"Space" is a record that brings formidable energy to the table. Discoplex uses energetic brass stabs and an entrancing vocal sample to set up the track. A smooth but punchy bassline serves as the perfect complement to these elements. The combination allows "Space" to simply dominate as another impressive chapter on Code Black.

Discoplex - Space

Stockholm-based talent Özgür Can delivers another successful tune, this time pairing up with Very Addictive for "Number One".

Fans of Code Red will not be strangers to Özgür and his darker sounds. He graced the imprint in late 2017 with a thundering two-track EP titled "Left 2 Dry". His most recent escapades include the release of "Parts Unknown" via Sebjak's Bibliothèque Records imprint.

"Number One" immediately highlights the intense vocals provided by Very Addictive. Özgür Can then works his magic with a rumbling bassline that joins forces with rhythmic synth stabs to create an incredible atmosphere. These elements come together to show just how strong of a producer Özgür really is.

Özgür Can feat. Very Addictive - Number One

Stephan Duy adds another feather to his cap as he releases his first-ever three-track EP via Code Black.

This release comes on the heels of two successful releases in the Code Red World of labels. The Swedish-Vietnamese producer debuted with "Jaipur" in March 2018. That led him to return to the label in June to release a free remix to Marcus Schossow and Corey James' previous single "Time Goes By". He shows off his edgier side with the release July 27 of the Insanity EP.

The EP begins with "Hands Together," an energetic take that brings an exciting bassline and memorable vocal hook. "Chasin'" is the second track, bringing a smooth and melodic vibe that serves as a strong contrast from the first tune. Rounding out the EP is the title track – "Insanity". With a pumping bassline and merciless vigor, this tune definitely shows the best has been saved for last.

It was that belief that led @marcusschossow to begin the Code Red Music project in 2015. Based upon the concept of having talent meet talent, the label’s values as both an institution and record company were quickly acclaimed by many.

In Marcus’ words, “we wanted to create a place where our musical dreams can run wild”. A core value of this belief is to “speak to each other daily, seeking to help and assist wherever possible”. Not in the form of a constitution or set of rules, but creative freedom.

Code Red is focused on the musical journey and experience. Here, we value charts just as much as discovery. At the core of this journey is interaction. Through the shared vision of Marcus, our artists and our fans, we aspire to expand our quest for musical freedom and friendship.

Friendship is an important construct, and this involves you. Through interviews, tutorials and feedback sessions, we at Code Red want to hear your thoughts and help you improve your music. We want you to become part of this shared belief, and “have the options to create what we really want to do, without anyone telling us how”.
