Swarm Intelligence drops eleven monumental tracks on Acre Recordings. ‘Black Iron Prison’ is pitch black stuff: foreboding and forbidding work, showcasing a more mechanistic, abrasive and brilliantly tense sound. The tracks span industrial rhythmic noise, searing electronic ambiences, half-step technoid rhythms and pounding 4/4 beats, all suffused with an anxiety and the sense of sinister things to come. Whilst fearsomely heavy, this is nevertheless a hauntingly nuanced unification of textured and rich ambiences with bitter, visceral beats. If darkness can coruscate then this outstanding release does just that.

Already debuted by Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC 6 Music Recommends and featured in Synkro's mixes for Boiler Room and iD Mag, this 12" is garnering serious interest from the wider electronic community. 

Djrum is an artist we have admired for some time and embodies the individual approach we respect in electronic music artists. An incredible DJ as well as producer, Djrum exists in his own unique musical universe with loose ties to many genre's, but giving the majority of his music a classification often proves futile. Such is the case with his Samurai debut. A pair of sprawling, epic musical moodswings, both sides enchant with their multi layered glide.

One of the founders of the infamous Yardcore clubnight in London that ran from 2004, alongside Dj Rum, Rrritalin and Dj Mash for Cash; giving one of the first forums in the city for Dubstep, Jungle, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and Techno to sit alongside each other without cliques. Initially Dj'ing on vinyl, I've played alongside the likes of Mira Calix, Bong-Ra, Ed Rush, Zan Lyons, Aaron Spectre, Remarc, and Various Production amongst others, covering a very broad range of styles. It's always been important to me to fuse genre,s and move as fluidly as possible through different tempos and moods within any individual set. 

My taste is fairly widely encompassing, and my sets cater to very different situations. Some can be rampant but dark, dancefloor hammering sound but then my love of ambience, sublety and minimalism tends to come through in my productions and sets away from the dancefloor. I now use Ableton Live, and tend to play quite 'having it' sets of Dubstep, Hip Hop and Jungle when I'm playing in a club, and a real mix of styles when I do the Yardcore radio show on www.subfm.com (You can check out our archives at www.yardcore.net for more sets by me and other members of the yardcore crew).

I've been producing since 2008, so early days.. but I'm slowly finding my sound. I hope that you enjoy it.
