Brooklyn producer Codes is an agent of chaos on his masterfully crafted, wonky and wickedly absurd Bumps EP, out now on Atlanta-based Psycho Disco Records helmed by Treasure Fingers.

Codes' wonderfully twisted collection of musical oddities begins wtth the title track, “Bumps”, the first downbeat kicks in around the one-minute mark with the most sinister and spine-tingling low end, casting a dark and trippy spell over the dancefloor with this smooth,groovy title track. Codes' “Boom Bapps” is a warm, woozy production with mischevious beats and time signatures, a steady kick and loopy synths along with trippy vocal samples that Codes describes as "liquid house hip hop jungle vibes". Lastly, “Bumps” gets the remix treatment from The Homie, wobbling that original funky low end into another galaxy.

So trying to be funny for the write up today we googled 'SKII' thinking something would pop up about flying down the slopes of Whistler. Although surprised we were wrong, we were taken on an educational journey about Japanese yeast cosmetics and their introduction in the early 1980s. Very much like the necessity of yeast in our lives, so is this new record from SkiiTour!

Two of the best dressed producers SkiiTour really nailed this one. Lose Our Heads has been the secret track on our USB for quite some time and its great to see it finally here for everyone else to enjoy. 

Melancholic arpeggiators and warm chords layer around absolutely amazing vocals. Thumping subs and electric synth lines keep this groove moving forward while bring those wow moments every step of the way. To take things into the next gear we have Wongo on the remix. With an energetic techno bass-line and enough train horns to scare off a flock of birds, Wongo goes what we call 'ape shit' on this remix taking all his peak time sounds and cramming them into one record at 132bpm.

Like a good batch of Loreal Paris, SkiiTour have really caked on the foundation and written themselves a hit!

@hotfiredjs is back on @NightBassRecords, bringing with them the Do Or Die EP. This San Diego-based duo blesses us with a massive 4-tracker, showcasing a unique blend of house, UKG & tech-house. The title track sets the tone for the EP with heavy bass and garage sounds, leading you into ‘Dangerous’ with its indistinct vocals that lull you into a head-rattling drop. ‘Criminal’ comes in with catchy vocals to match the techy rhythms. ‘Relax’ finishes out the EP with an uplifting, yet seemingly relaxing bassline.
