On the 26th of March BBC Horizons artists Codewalkers will be releasing their new single ‘The Way We Go’. Bringing their energetic fusion of rap and reggae along with electronic influences, the track was written remotely during lockdown. Inspired by the circumstances, ‘The Way We Go’ is a wink and a nod to the many people in the music industry who've given them helpful advice, and reminded them, when it comes down to it, to focus on making music.

Somnambulism is about the mental and social shortcuts we use to sleep walk our way through our daily lives.  It’s about stripping back the layers and acknowledging our true selves, honestly, without pretending to be something that we are not. It also addresses the usual Codewalkers topics of social inequality and the disconnect that individual’s find between their internal landscapes and the irritatingly pointless reality that confronts them outside of dreams. Basically drilling society.

Somnambulism

On the 8th of July Codewalkers are back with a new single ‘Preternatural’. Coupling their unique, upbeat fusion of genres with vocalist Seun Babatola’s trademark probing lyrics, ‘Preternatural’ explores themes of choice and sacrifice, asking how far are we willing to go to get what we want and what are we willing to give up in return.
