Another edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) is just around the corner, and this year marks its 30th anniversary. As always, Chrom Recordings is ready to celebrate in style with their annual ADE Sampler and a 2-day label showcase happening on Friday and Saturday. Our ADE Chrom Sampler features 10 carefully curated tracks, reflecting the diverse sounds of Progressive House, Indie Dance, and Melodic House & Techno. The Compilation opens with 2 recent Chrom anthems: Horizon, taken from the #100-album by our own label manager Pedro Mercado alongside Karada, followed by our latest single Missing, the iconic 90s classic from Everything But The Girl covered by Yves Eaux feat. Gregory Douglass. The remaining 8 tracks are brand-new and exclusive to this release. Half of them are contributions from trusted Chrom regulars: Fernando Lagreca, DJ Andy de Gage, Paul Sawyer and Daniel Vilchez. The other half is coming from artists who are new to our label: JP Lantieri from France, VUH from Mexico, GELIMA from Thailand and Juwlz from Belgium. We hope you enjoy this years selection! Landing 10 years after his first concept album, Wehbba’s drops his debut full-length on Drumcode, featuring collaborations with David Caretta, Thomas Gandey and Brazilian vocalist L-cio.

Following a series of globally adored EPs and inclusions within the imprint’s esteemed A-Sides compilation series, the chart-dominating São Paulo native now reflects upon his life as ‘the artist’, offering an immersive montage of stories that echo a tenacious dedication to his craft. Enlisting the talents of multi-instrumentalist Thomas Gandey, Electroclash pioneer David Carretta and fellow Brazilian L-cio, with his unparalleled flute mastery, Wehbba’s synergetic cuts span the breadth of electronic music’s sonic landscape, as he challenges the notion of genres with seasoned voices.

Birthed from the purest inspiration, the album’s 13 cuts represent a myriad of musical references close to Wehbba’s heart, running parallel with the organic sensibilities of his field recordings. An ode to eternal growth, the LP highlights a cycle of perception and projection, as Wehbba studies the morphing of genres through his own musical filter. Discussing the upcoming album, Wehbba commented:

"The musical references on these works trace back to the 90s, when I started listening to electronic music and had no judgement of what was cool - when I was totally free. So they represent, without any filter, what touched me, ranging from braindance to goa trance, from ambient to hard house, and from drum n’ bass through every single mutation of techno and house music."

As a key ambassador for Brazil’s dance music community on a global scale, Wehbba’s long-standing career has seen him affiliate with many of the industry greats on both remix and collaborative projects; testament to his flourishing reputation. Following on from the geometric-led titles of his first two albums, Straight Lines and Sharp Corners alludes to the difficult decisions and blunt shifts he has faced in his career, and their capacity to shape his identity over time. Studying the great Antoni Gaudi, Wehbba’s third LP title takes reference from his perceptive quote: "There are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature, therefore buildings must have no straight lines or sharp corners. Anything created by human beings is already in the great book of nature."

Sisko Electrofanatik is back on Markantonio’s label AnalyticTrail with a solo EP after first featuring on a VA at the start of 2020.

Based in Rome, Sisko Electrofanatik plays regularly across Italy plus other parts of Europe, and his tracks have been on high-flying labels including Carl Cox’s Intec, Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave, Coyu’s Suara and Sam Paganini's JAM.

Known for having an in your face style of techno, he takes no prisoners with high energy tracks that blend thundering percussion and dauntless melodies.

The three track EP opens with the punishing claps and sadistic synth line of “No Disco” that takes its title from the twisted vocal sample.

Next up is “Stereo Cosmic” and its rolling percussion leads to a euphoric break before plunging back into darkness.

“Run” closes the EP in dramatic style with the building tension of swelling synths and a thumping kick drum.

UMEK’s label 1605 is back with the second instalment of its mixed artist EP, this time including solo tracks by Beico, Luca Gaeta and Rudosa, plus a collaboration from Teenage Mutants & Twin Mix Trip.

Each of the four tracks have been handpicked by the label boss UMEK whose style blends hard-hitting percussion with gripping synth riffs.

Teenage Mutants & Twin Mix Trip open the EP with their track “Momentum” where the deep and euphoric intro soon subsides for a thundering techno groove. Bass-heavy with building tension, it is true to the style Teenage Mutants have previously featured on 1605 along with other labels such as Tronic, Terminal M and Senso Sounds. Twin Mix Trip is a veteran DJ duo who are also making waves with their high calibre productions.

Track two comes from Argentina, Beico is best know for being one half of the Beico & MT93 duo that featured music on high-flying labels including Unrilis, Respekt Recordings and Kraftek. Beico recently dropped a solo track on Monika Kruse’s Terminal M too and follows up on that with the interstellar groove of the epic cut titled “Universe”.

Third of the heavyweight selections comes from Italian artist Luca Gaeta whose track “Mystery Land” builds subtle suspense whilst teasing the bass stabs in the lead up to the main breakdown, the track is then plunged into compelling darkness when the percussion drops back in. Luca Gaeta has also featured on 100% Pure, Phobiq and Unity Records, but this is possibly his finest work to date.

Lifting the energy for an explosive finish, UK rising star Rudosa closes out the EP with his track “Deeper Expectancy”. Having already featured on labels like Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave and Carl Cox’s Intec, he has often been charted inside of Beatport's top-selling techno tracks, and his trademark raw style is once again on display here.
