My dad’s birthday was a few days ago. He would have been 61. Maybe that’s what’s got me thinking about him today.

In the year following his death I wrote a few songs. It was a way to try to organize my thoughts and feelings. I wrote for myself. I’ve been back and forth a hundred times about sharing these songs and I’ve always decided against it. But lately I’ve begun to realize that practicing vulnerability is a good thing for me. As a start, here is one of those songs. Recorded alone in my office one night when I was sad and hurting.
