Cody Bell has been singing and performing for over ten years, and teaching for over four. Beginning his performing career singing in the school band, Cody got his first taste of professional singing with his semi-final place in Australia’s Got Talent 2012, followed by Melbourne dates and regional touring at a range of events, from exclusive private venues, to stages in front of thousands. 

Cody’s voice and piano playing have grown in breadth and power since his debut into public performance. His voice projects effortlessly and commands attention from the first note; at times graceful, playful and dextrous, at times raw, powerful and emotional, but always with a clarity of purpose and emotion that invites the audience to share each moment of performance with him. 

Drawing on his personal experience from years of gigs, and working together with famed jazz artist and teacher Julie O’Hara, Cody pays homage to the great soul and R&B voices that inspired his passion for singing, such as Whitney Houston and Donny Hathaway, and works their classics into his own repertoire of pop, soul, and jazz. His ability to reinterpret and improvise is always in service to the song, the singer, and most importantly, the audience.
