My Testimony

I spent a year living in Frisco. Most of it was hell. These three tracks are a result of my time there.

This was the first time I started producing for myself. If the beats sound good now, it is only because of my good friends, Mark Benavides and Tim Saiza. I actually only did production on Prayer and Sandman; Mark entirely produced 8th Grade Nerves. That's his voice on the chorus, too. These tracks are not the kind of sound I'm wanting to create anymore, but at the time it was. I didn't really know what was going on with my life, and I think this reflects that. My lyrics are everywhere and super abstract. More than anything else, I think I was communicating mixed feelings of hope and frustration. 

I left Frisco pretty beat up. Now that I'm back in Austin, I can feel that healing process begin but it's slow and I'm impatient. Once you know what 'home' is for you, don't convince yourself you'll be ok somewhere else.
