Toy Tonics main artists @COEO from Munich are back. The 2 guys started their career on Toy Tonics 7 years ago and since then made a long way. Their last EP „Piano Workout“ got heavy support from DJs like Job Jobse, Kim Ann Foxman & Perel and opened a new vibe in their oeuvre: They extended their style to more Balearic, Italo, Synth funk 80ies vibes. "25 Hundred Friends" is an ironic take on Italopop and social media… and will be a song people talk about for sure. "Slipstream" could be big on festivals with its classic DX/baseline and hypnotic vibe.

"Midnight Vision" has this light Caribbean and South African influences. The vibe you could feel on Don Laka's classic "Stages". And fits well with everything Toy Tonics releases in its Mushroom House series. Yeah, Toy Tonics and COEO open up for even more eclectic influences and extend house music to more levels and styles.

A dupla alemã Coeo tem embalado bem a cena underground, os DJs e produtores Florian Vietz e Andreas Höpfl, 2 rapazes, que se conheceram durante o ensino médio e desde lá compartilham um amor mútuo pela música. 

Embora você possa se perguntar como se pronuncia o nome da dupla, "coeo", é uma expressão do latin, que significa "unir" ou "reunir", no fim o que sempre conta é a união!

German duo Coeo have been making waves recently on the underground House scene. With releases on esteemed labels such as Sccucci Manucci, Toy Tonics, Let's Play House, Seven Music or Dabit Records they are an act to watch over 2014! The DJ and production duo consists of Florian Vietz and Andreas Höpfl, 2 guys, who met during high school and shared a mutual love for hip hop and soul music. Some years later they fell in love with house music and spent more and more nights in their studio in Munich to write their own songs.

Although you might wonder how to pronounce the duo's name, "coeo" is a latin expression, which means to "unite" or "come together". Club music creates a communal spirit and their music is intended to bring people together on the dancefloor!

Cracki Records (Agar Agar, Mangabey, Saint DX...) and Fauve Records, run by the DJ and producer Romain FX, join for the first time on "Make Italo Disco Great Again", a new compilation dedicated to a trend of electronic music loved by all, Italo Disco !

"Make Italo Disco Great Again" is a project that gathers 8 artists from all over the world (France, Hong-Kong, Russia, Germany, Netherlands) under the same banner, with the only goal to make people dance !

On October 27th will be released the first two extracts of this compilation which will arrive at the end of the year:

COEO back on Toy Tonics! The German duo has been part of Toy Tonics since day one. Now they celebrate their return to Toy Tonics with an outstanding EP full of timeless, contemporary house music that also marks their 10th contribution to the label after their first release on the imprint 10 years ago. Their house vibes have been defining the sound of the Toy Tonics label for many years, and still now they regularly play the Toy Tonics events around the world. (The Toy Tonics Jams).

On this new EP one more time, the boys dive deep into the Italo & Piano House world, getting more electronic than ever. This EP is 100% in the vibe of now. With great piano chord drops that make everybody scream on the dance floor, with horn and synth melodies that you can sing along after you heard them one time only, and with classic house beats that are THE sound of today.

The main title, “Nostalgia,” is inspired by and a tribute to all the intimate and ecstatic moments they were able to share over the years with music lovers on festivals and in clubs around the world. Here comes a new BLACK LOOPS EP including remixes by munich based COEO and Neovinyl’s CARLO. They go smooth this time. Rhodes pianos, some jazzy chords, a rolling beat.
The two guys know how to make a swinging loop. And they got style. No wonder as one is a funk drummer - Riccardo - who lives in Berlin and the other - Gabriele - makes his money as a photographer living in Milan. Every two months they meet in Riccardo's studio space in Berlin Kreuzberg and jam for a few nights and days. Doing new tracks, mixtapes, loops. Djing in local bars and clubs.

COEO are Toy Tonics' lead artists and they don’t joke ! Technically perfect on a level that most producers start to get jealous. Musically filled up with so much knowledge about the history of Disco and House that it’s no wonder that big names like Kenny Dope, Borrowed Identity and Tensnake are huge fans. And their style...? It’s a pure hedonistic discoish attitude that combines the funk driven eclecticism of today, the curiosity of young music cats who always want to be ahead and a sense of quality in music that we miss in so many of today's house music productions. In fact it’s 2017 and a lot is changing in the House scene. The "old" melancholic deep house now is quite dead - while most Deep House charts are filled up with sample based Funk House. COEO are regularly on the top of the several Deep House charts, and there is a reason : their tracks have that kind of new, nasty, sexualised vibe that gets more inspired from the late 1990ies French touch house or early Masters at Work production. From Jazz DJ’s and DJ Sets of wildstyle DJ’s like Harvey or the Idjut Boys. It’s not any more about the old schematic Ketamine Deep House that always sounds the same (and makes your feet fall asleep). Listen to Flesh World ! It’s black music basically. It’s Booty sound. Track #8 from critically acclaimed third album ‘Shout’, ‘City Song’ is Eli Escobar at his refined best. Demonstrating his unique ability to create musical landscapes around a house template, here his reimagining of the track builds layers of context around vocal chops and urban noise, influenced by early Ice Cube albums and how they use “ambiance and sound effects to paint a picture of the story he was trying to tell”. ‘City Song’ is the moment where the album’s spirits begin to raise, and ‘City Song Part 2 (Peace, Love and Harmony)’ finds yet more hope with filtered snatches of groove. Accompany Eli’s New Version of Part 2, Ron Basejam (aka Jim Baron of Crazy P) goes funkier with richer bass and soul claps, whereas German duo COEO take a refreshingly different direction with their ‘City Song’ remix, punctuating their production with piano and percussion.

We are honored and excited to present the ‘Drum’n Voice Remixed’ album by the legend Billy Cobham in collaboration with Italian’s finest music producers and composers Novecento. 

Acclaimed as jazz-rock fusion's greatest drummer, Billy Cobham has dedicated his whole life to musical exploration and creative expression. Throughout his career he has collaborated with artists like Miles Davis, Horace Silver, Airto Moreira, George Benson and appeared on over 300 recordings, including icons like Peter Gabriel, Quincy Jones, Jack Bruce, Bob Weir, and James Brown. Cobham’s dramatic, explosive power mixed with emotional spontaneity, extraordinary dexterity, and complex style of play brought him global attention and critical acclaim.  The first album ‘Spectrum’ is a masterpiece and still considered a reference album today. 

‘Drum’N Voice’ is a collaborative project with the Nicolosi family, known collectively as Novecento. After reaching the top of the European and American charts with their Italo Disco hits, they decided to explore new ideas and evolve their music leading to a jazz and ambient territory and collaborating with some incredible artists. 

The album, recorded between Milan, London, Los Angeles and New York, also feature collaborations with incredible artists like Eumir Deodato, Stanley Jordan, Frank Gambale, Gregg Kofi Brown, George Duke, Brian Auger, Bob Mintzer. Billy delivers an amazing creativity and listening experience that unveils its unique style in playing drums and percussions. 
The collection include amazing reworks from Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Danny Krivit, Folamour, S.A.M., Gerd Janson, Khidja, Boris Dlugosch & Cassara, Coeo and Lexx.

For the 25th instalment from House of Disco we see Munich duo and Toytonics regulars COEO explore pastures new with an EP bathed in the neon glow of the 1980’s. Inspired by cheap karate films and old Baywatch episodes the duo hone in on something new among all the old machines and familiar sounds.

‘Habibi Dub’, the opening track elevates the forgotten about pan-pipe to sunny perfection, perfect for slow motion running on that honeymoon in Hawaii. The second of three originals ‘Sharks, Lies & Videotape’ takes the dune buggy for a blast along the beach looking for trouble while the third offering ‘Joe Armstrong Theme’ defends your dojo from unwanted nighttime intruders.

Alongside the originals are two superb remixes from one of our favourite producers ‘Lauer’ and young Irish team ‘Mix & Fairbanks’

COEO are back on Toy Tonics! After uninterrupted touring around the globe, followed by a short creative break the guys come back with an even stronger sound. With the new EP they go more underground again. Its addressed to the clubs and night owls out there, who turn night into day and won't stop dancing! 

The sound is based on classic house patterns and includes a lot of cool saxophones, big piano stabs & rhythmic piano solos. They even go tribal, use arpeggios and switch into breakbeat heaven. The four Originals are a great next step in the COEO evolution. The unique warm, catchy atmosphere of the tracks can create that special COEO euphoria which made them a lot of fans. From Moodymann to Disclosure, Mall Grab to Kenny Dope, the list is long. 

It’s fantastic to see how popular they became over the last couple of years. The last COEO vinyl sold over 2500 copies and some of their tracks have millions of Spotify plays. It’s DJ FOOD. Pure bliss!
