Daniel Maunick returns with a new EP, Musica Encantada via Far Out Recordings. Continuing the theme of his debut album Macumba Quebrada – which saw support from the likes of Moodymann, Ron Trent, Gilles Peterson, and Benji B – Maunick draws on the deep-rooted Brazilian influences from the many years he has spent in the country, producing records with Azymuth, Marcos Valle, Sabrina Malheiros and Ivan 'Mamão' Conti.

The bossa-jazz house smash ‘Black Magic’ stays exclusive to the vinyl, while the percussive deep-house roller ‘A Chance To See Again’, the tight and groovy ‘Hurt Feelings’, and the slow-mo Brazilian Balearic ‘Africana’ will all see a limited vinyl and digital release on the 23rd October 2020.

[PREMIERE] Daniel Maunick - Africana (Far Out Recordings)

Born in Paris in the 80s, Cognate finally settled in the south of France after working in the UK and scouring London's best clubs in the 2000s.
Drummer for the Ska Reggae band Zgroop, famous for their song "L'histoire d'un ado", he began to touch his first turntables when the band stopped performing in 2002.  In 2008, he rinsed the airwaves of Radio Grenouille 88.8 (Marseille) with his first mix on the "Basses Fréquences" program, before creating his own electronic music program on Radio Active FM (Toulon) in 2010: "BPM RADIO SHOW".
A lover of deep sounds backed by solid, physical grooves inspired by House, Deep House and Techno, his DJ sets are spontaneous orchestrations fed by the nuances of a night, a place and an audience. He has played alongside numerous DJs including Dubfire, Onyvaa, The Supermen Lovers, Locked Groove...
A multi-faceted artist, Cognate is now developing his personal project around production, collaboration and sharing the music that has always nourished him.

Amateur de sonorités profondes soutenues par des grooves solides et physiques inspirés de la House, de la Deep House et de la Techno, ses DJ sets sont des orchestrations spontanées nourries par les nuances d’une nuit, d’un endroit, d’un public. Il a joué aux côtés de nombreux DJs tels que Dubfire, Onyvaa, The Supermen Lovers, Locked Groove …
Artiste aux multiples facettes, Cognate développe aujourd’hui son projet personnel autour de la production, de collaborations et du partage de la musique qui le nourrissent depuis toujours.
