“The work is not so much designed to evoke the impression of a spider and its antics, although, given the title (Like the Spider), this may be unavoidable,  rather, the work is intended to share some of the spider’s attributes.  It moves with an agility which is sometimes forthright and sometimes masked by languor, but is ultimately decisive with a brazen edge characteristic of a spider’s bite.  The title itself, may be seen as an extended performance indication, suggesting the character of the work as an approach to its performance.”
