Heading into Fall, with the last rays of sunshine bearing us in warm hues, Crossfrontier Audio are setting the season alight with a stunning EP from the dynamic pair that is Hacker & Miethig.

The duo shouldn't be new news to you, as they contiue to make waves, you might have heard of them previously from their infectious remix of Swipe, or through their debut EP: Dambal, that came out earlier last year. Marking up an impressive arsenal, with canons on Save Us & Einmusika, they reload the clip on a brand new and moving EP... Ways of Nantahala.

Three individual ideas done in the deep of America, telling the circled journey from the tipping point of Knoxville, into the jewel of Nantahala, a forest with much to quest over, and back to the scapes of Farragut. What happened here is unbeknownst to the listener, discovery? Danger? Trepidation? Did the duo sit magically watching sunsets in the ambient colors of fall for inspiration? Was there a bonfire? Stop guessing, sit back and let the music take you there...

Telling tales with tunes, the three tracks shape their way into our minds as they unwind from the tree lined trails to speakers and headphones. Music speaks more than what is heard...

After gaining international praise from their hugely successful EP, ‘L.D.O.E’, Aaaron & Deckert return to the stage, this time debuting their forthcoming EP, ‘Wide Eyes’, on Scatcity Records. The pair offer more of their immersive and melodic techno, with JMII and Skatman coming through on the remix duties. 

Low-pounding subs sets ‘Wide Eyes’ menacing tone from the very start, filtering gradually a range of rumbling low-end synths against a punchy drum pattern. Slow warbling synths slowly build into the tracks main attraction; Nessi, who offers a raw and chilling vocal display that floats you effortlessly into the early hours. 

With ‘Titans’, the duo once again build upon their impressive sub-heavy work, this time enriching their creation of dense musical atmospheres through a range of mystic synth chords and deep brass attacks that expand and resonate throughout. 

Skatman flips the headline track entirely, stripping back Nessi’s vocals to only display her deep soulful howls that echo over his impressive melodic chord sequencing.

JMII's remix of ‘Titans’ Is definitely one for the later hours, transforming the duos sub heavy realm into a range of crunchy, industrial drum patterns that multiply across an array of analogue synth lines.

We asked close friends and long time idols to play their part to the full to complete the third edition of the label’s Family Horror compilation series. The outcome is a clear snapshot of the musical inclinations of the three label founders, Sevensol & Map.ache (aka Manamana) and Bender, encapsulating an idiosyncratic, modern house sound that demands an emotional response. 
The compilation comes rounded off by a booklet of photographs from Ria aka Lux which just like the music captures some of the beautiful ‘Good Times’ from this very special period, this time on paper.

Sabo’s label Sol Selectas has an ethos of releasing music that moves mind body and soul with melodic grooves intertwined between tribal percussion, and this new release is from Spanish artist Mark Alow.

Mark Alow is already a valued member of the Sol Selectas family with his track “White Tusk” being one of the label’s bestselling tracks also charting # 1 on Beatport, and his original tracks on this release are complimented by a remix from Hraach.

Other labels to have also championed the deep atmosphere and haunting beauty of Mark Alow’s music include Little Helpers, Baile Musik, When We Dip XYZ and Solar Distance. He also recently collaborated with Gab Rhome for an EP on Bar 25 Music.

On remix duty, Hraach has previously featured on Sol Selectas working alongside Armen Miran, but this time he returns in a solo capacity to remind us of his exceptional musical skill. One of the most successful artists of his genre he has also featured on the likes of Earthly Delights, Underyourskin and Sudbeat Music.

Opening the release “Temple of Time” is a blissful journey that explores the different timbres of the Skahuhachi flute, and the Kora string instrument. The playful interaction between these two instruments and the steady flow of the percussion has a mesmerising effect that transports the listener to ancient times.

Hraach’s interstellar approach to “Temple of Time” adds blissful pads and spacious ambience to the track. Hauntingly beautiful, the wispy textures build an ethereal atmosphere that complements the original’s percussion, and instead of looking to the past this version has us gazing up at the stars.

Third on the EP is the sensual “Astrophilia” which blends spiritual chanting with wind-instrument flutters and submerged breathing to create a ritualistic dance floor experience, and the irresistible tribal elements keep us on the path through time like a shaman guiding the trip.

Finishing the selection “Yugen” turns up the funk with its simple but effective bassline, swirling pads, and fluttering flute. The jovial breakdown is an oriental soundscape painting pictures of geisha dancing at a traditional party in a Japanese garden.

The artwork by Helia Jamali portraits the passage of time upon the Earth’s magical landscapes, and into a parallel dimension where sunsets surround a sacred geometric temple of time, with an archway leading us into the future.

Schooled as a classical cellist, Techstil combines the hypnotic rhythm of techno with warm acoustic presence, and timeless geometrical melodies. Growing up with Kraftwerk he fell in love with analogue synthesizers at early age, and by 2006 he started DJ’ing in the underground clubs of Malmö. By 2008 he  followed the Basic Channel-beats to Berlin to participate in the evolution of the Berlin sound. After 4 years in Berlin he turned to a warmer slower sound, inspired by heavy base from Panorama bar, and never-ending weekends at Bar25... After many years in Helsinki, Finland he recently moved to Stockholm where he plays hypnotic deep house and dubby techno from labels like Sol Selectas, Giegling, Molt, Hypnus, Trolldans, Permanent Vacation and Diynamic
