Ways and Means have the dance music pedigree of a Crufts winner and between them, they have so far have over 50 releases under their belts under a variety of names spanning from 1992 to present including the legendary ‘hardcore’ rave outfit ‘Orca’ to Drum & Bass names, ‘Decoder’ ‘Alpha Proxima’ and ‘Felony’as well as being part of the world wide successful ‘Kosheen’ who have release 4 albums and toured the world. Comprising of Darren Beale, Gary Eccles and Kristian Townsend, their experience in the scene has enabled Ways And Means to grow with the scene, being a part of it every step of the way, influencing its progression and ultimately giving the boys a great deal of experience to draw from when it comes to inspiration. They have all DJ’d at some of the most pioneering club nights and events throughout the years from the illegal acid house scene in the UK to classic events such as Fantazia, Perception and were all part of organising the legendary Breakbeat Culture nights in Bristol, UK After a variety of solo projects, Ways And Means has now enabled Darren, Gary and Kristian who are all long standing friends, to again work together and this shows in their enthusiasm and their results as in 2009 alone they have released an impressive back catalogue on a variety of labels such as the winner of the Best breakthrough label 2010, Dusted Breaks, Bombtraxx, Egoshot, Chipsound and Sub Tribe. With an impressive first year, Ways And Means are continuing to work with such pace that 2010 is going to be a great year for them and long may it continue!

Susie Ledge first met the Ways And Means boys by supporting Kosheen on several tours. Susie is an up and coming singer-songwriter and guitarist. Renowned for her evocative lyrics and emotive yet chilled out style, she creates songs that are soothing to the ear and vivid for the imagination, and her music has the unusual ability of being instantly recognisable whilst remaining original and engaging.

Back in 2006 when I was just started to make breakbeat music I still remember that excitement I had with Breaks music that was influenced by Drum and Bass. People were calling it "Neuro breaks" or "Tear-out". I really liked that darkness and filthy DNB-alike basslines but with lower tempo. I was really into that music since that time. Everything has changed and I don't see this kind of music on Beatport or Spotify these days. Nevertheless, this track is dedicated to this, I assume, dead genre. 

My first intention was just to finish an unfinished track from 2017 and push it on Soundcloud as it is but then after a couple of days, I realized that I entirely reworked it. You wouldn't even recognize the original parts.

Hello, I'm Slava. I've been making all types of electronic music since 2002. Though I was born in Russia, I now call Prague, Czech Republic my home.

From 2006 to 2013, I was known as Breakzhead. I was making nu skool breaks music and running a record label called Subtribe Records. We had lots of great artists and our records often appeared in the Beatport Breaks Top10 list. I was lucky enough to share the scene with big names such as The Freestylers, Meat Katie, Freq Nasty, and many others.

In 2014, things changed. I started a new music project called Cogun, investing more time in Drum & Bass music. I brought out a few records on labels like Mindtech and Onset Audio. But, after taking nearly a five-year break and gathering lots of unfinished music, I realized I didn't want to be limited by one music genre or style.

So, on May 31, 2020, I kicked off Cogun Music. It's my own record label and it’s all about sharing my new music without getting stuck in one genre.
