On the night of 9th October 1963 at 22.39, a landslide from Monte Toc* fell down into the Vajont artificial lake (Pordenone, Italy) causing a mega-tsunami and a seismic shock twice the power of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The 250 metre wave that overtopped the Vajont Dam with 50 million m3 of water overflowing in total (other two waves were simultaneously produced), killed over 3000 people. 1910 victims and among the 1300 missing, many were dismembered and atomised by the air mass movement blast. The seismic shock and its earth tremors were recorded as far away as Brussels and Vienna. 
The white dam, perfectly built and still intact, is the tallest in Europe and considered by experts, a work of art.
Tina Merlin, journalist and partisan, wrote, denounced and opposed the construction of the Vajont Dam on Monte Toc (geologically unstable) from 1957 till the disaster in 1963.

The Dam, for Tina/ La Diga, a Tina

I've been a Korg Gadget iOS user since the first release, and I'm a big fan. but I have often found myself feeling limited by the way it manages tracks - feels more geared towards 4x4 EDM than ambient music. 
so around 18 months ago I started to experiment with what it can do - playing around with lengths, parameter automation, etc. - and found that there's a lot that this app can do. there's a second Gadget-based track to come after this.

I imported all audio tracks individually to Reason 13 and applied level, EQ, pan and FX automation.  all sounds are Gadget except the HH at 0:30, and the sort of glitchy beat that enters around a minute. mixed on HD-650 headphones, mastered with Ozone.

the art is a Photoshop AI generated view of a Soviet-era control panel, with the red tree from my earlier tracks overlaid on top of it.

I tinker with musical toys. sometimes they behave and sometimes they don't. sometimes they run and tell lies to their mom about what I called them. in the end we always make up and laugh about it.

I release music as colab; through collaborations; and by remixing/producing other artists’ music from my home studio in Toronto, Canada.
