"Left Hand Drive" is the debut release from Wilks.

Drawing on influences from all around the electronic sphere, this Cheltenham based producer has delivered an outstanding EP that melds together elements of drum n bass, IDM, garage, ambient and electronica to create a sonic experience that buries itself somewhere between blurry memories and the present moment.

The meticulous production process of Wilks is evident throughout. Carefully designed rhythmic elements intertwining alongside gleaming melodies and glistening pads with ease. There's a cinematic and sentimental edge within each track and all six on offer here get a turn in expressing their own unique character, emotion and identity.

"Left Hand Drive", as a whole, lays down a marker for this new artist. Wilks is already carving a sound of his own and we're delighted to be able to introduce him to the world.

sometimes things just come together naturally. I've been in a funk recently and been unable to think about music. too much work and too little headspace.

then on the same day I heard wou-wou's open collaboration track (https://soundcloud.com/wouwouopencollab/yesterdays-muse) and yellow salamander's "does this distortion taste funny" (https://soundcloud.com/user-67032313/yellow-salamandr-does-this-distortion-taste-funny), and it was enough to get my lazy butt back in gear.

both of these guys are awesome. and I'm very glad they keep sharing their music.

I tinker with musical toys. sometimes they behave and sometimes they don't. sometimes they run and tell lies to their mom about what I called them. in the end we always make up and laugh about it.

I release music as colab; through collaborations; and by remixing/producing other artists’ music from my home studio in Toronto, Canada.
