Following on from last year's acclaimed EP ‘Arch’ and BBC 6 Music’s recommended song of the week ‘Wake up in blue’ — UK dwellers and BBC 6 Music favourites Cold, cold heart return with their new composition ‘Katie, my Queen’.

Born over just two weekends inside the four walls of their discrete yet majestic new studio in Cambridgeshire, ‘Katie, my Queen’ is an exploration of the alluring relationship between modular synthesizers, Cello and piano and continues where ‘Arch’ left us with their emotive and joyful exploration towards happiness and contentment.
Having secured post-production work with ambient aficionado Francesco Donadello (A Winged Victory for the Sullen, Michael Price, Eluvium etc.) in his Vox-Ton studio in Berlin, ‘Katie, my Queen’ is a captivating voyage through grand soundscapes and droning crescendos which crash and decline back, making way for delicate piano notes and roaring synthesizers.

As with everything they do, Cold, cold heart’s music comes from a simplistic, pure place but resonates between order and chaos, glitter and dirt, beauty and destruction. Nothing is planned or predetermined, only that it’s a journey worth taking.
