Sunlounger Lost

Face Machine inhabits the blurred threshold between the human and the synthetic, where identity becomes fluid and is constantly rewritten. Drifting between melodic techno, underground trance and electro-pop, the album unfolds like a network of unstable selves - mirrors folding into mirrors, names dissolving into signals. Vocals shift between male and female, merging with abstract textures until the human voice becomes something unbound, a mutable instrument suspended between body and machine. Each track carves its own passage through luminous, volatile atmospheres, yet all are tethered by a shared sonic architecture of detuned oscillators, layered melodic counterpoint, and synthesis timbres that breathe with organic motion.

These twelve tracks move through states of emergence and disappearance - memory scattering, identity refracting, presence dissolving into signal. Wordless chants, whispered fragments, and spectral harmonies drift like residues of selves that never fully arrive. Within this landscape, rhythm and texture intertwine: polyrhythmic layers build and collapse, melodic threads blur into complex harmonic tides, and shifting tonalities open portals into new emotional terrain. Face Machine doesn't offer resolution; instead, it lingers in the spaces where perception falters and technology reshapes what it means to exist. It is an album of thresholds and transformations - a meditation on how we become, lose, and reinvent ourselves in an age where even our voices can belong to someone, or something, else.

One of the most discussed tracks from the previews of ‘Pure Trance Vol. 4’ is this Solarstone production of Denmark’s finest trance vocalist – Stine Grove. A perfect pairing apparently, as Solarstone transforms Stine’s delicate ballad of hope into a soaring pure trance anthem. With a meaty hook in the form of a heartfelt “I’ll get us home” refrain and an infectious synth riff to back it up, ‘Against The Flow’ is a cut above.

In a year where his pensive and emotionally swirling melodies have risen towards the highlights of trance in 2017, Coldharbour Recordings is delighted to welcome back Dennis Sheperd; with the next installment in his impressive portfolio, and one with a deep personal meaning, titled Copenhagen.

The reason behind the name? The Danish Capital was the location for a seismic day in Dennis' life, marrying his special lady, Lavashnee, in May 2016. An occasion to live long in the memory inspired him to paint a portrait through his strength of music.

The German is no stranger to Coldharbour, having collaborated with the boss Markus Schulz on 2012 anthemic number Go. With Markus assigned the task of mixing the latest edition of the acclaimed Techno Club compilation series alongside Talla 2XLC, Dennis was immediately considered to lay his mark on the journey.

Much like his summer stormer Reconnected, Copenhagen allows the melody to shine brightest; boasting one that pulses through the dancefloor whilst maintaining a contemplative mood for home listening.

Copenhagen marks a fantastic piece for the winter. As New Year's Eve approaches, it will rightly fill the playlists of many. For Dennis and Lavashnee, it is a melody to last a lifetime.

When embarking upon her debut mix compilation, Follow Me, earlier this summer, Nifra wanted to use the platform as one to showcase the future, as well as reflecting upon her musical journey that got her there.

To achieve this, she selected two originals from the recent and distant past, and called upon a collection of fellow Coldharbour favorites to sprinkle their own interpretations.

Fewer pieces in her discography proved more significant than Dark Harbour, and Daxson continues his most successful year to date with another storming remix. On the compliment, Powerball, co-produced with Anske, receives the high octane treatment from UK trio Solis & Sean Truby and Harry Square.
