Hey, y'all! This is a cover of Ed Sheeran's "I See Fire" from The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. My friends McKay Leggett, Taylor Agan, and I chose to do a demo of this song for a project in our Demo Production class at Belmont University. All instruments were recorded and mixed by myself. I sang all the vocals except for the group vocal at the end. Taylor, McKay and our friend Dylan Byrnes all sang on that part as well. This is my first real endeavor into the world of recording/audio engineering so I'd love to hear what y'all think!!!

I See Fire-Ed Sheeran Cover

This is a piece I composed around a central piano theme that I originally thought to be fairly minimalistic. I wanted to expand on the theme by adding several other instruments. Electric guitar, bass, chimes, bells, strings, 12-string guitar, and even a bass drop or two can all be found in this piece. It was purely experimental but did not go without being dedicated to something. 

The title, "K195C" refers to several things. In reverse, first, the key: C Minor. Second, the tempo: 195 bpm. Thirdly and wholly, a planet. Yes, a planet. Kepler 195c. It is an exoplanet discovered by the Kepler spacecraft telescope. There's nothing especially remarkable about this planet but it is one of 974 new exoplanets discovered by the Kepler spacecraft as the search for habitable planets continues.

This piece is dedicated to exploration, experimentation, fulfillment, and most importantly, the stars. They're where we come from and one day we will return. Make of this piece what you will, but I hope this piece will begin to take you on an aurally cosmic musical journey.
