Contemporary version of a traditional Japanese folk song.
This uses a recording of the traditional melody from a music box and a loose English translation by my daughter.
The sample was processed in multiple ways, primarily using Arturia Pigments granular engine.

Tired

What started with a groove on a Moog DFAM became a musical audio letter from my daughter to her grandma in Japan.
Translation as follows.
My name is Emily, I am 7 years old, my favourite colours are blue and aqua, my favourite food is butter chicken curry. 
Last year I got to visit my Grandparents in Japan. Their house is small but very comfortable. My Brother and Sister and I make a lot of noise and my Mother says be quiet. My Grandparents just smile at us.
We went to the mountains and played in the snow. I made a snowman and threw snowballs at my Brother. We went on a long walk through the forrest and had a hot bath when we got back. I had lots of fun.
I was sad when we had to leave, my brother cried but tried not to show it. I know they love me very much, I want to see them again.
I talk to them sometimes and show them what I've done, Grandma smiles at me. I want to see them again, I know they love me very much.
