This latest album from Colin was recorded chiefly during the Covid Lockdown months of March 2020 and May 2021 and hopefully displays that some good can come out of the frustrations of being unable to take part in live performance.
As usual the album features some guest musicians in the shapes of Peter Knaggs on Electric Guitars and Bass, Steve Shorey on Electric Guitars and Ukulele, Paul Matthews on Acoustic & Electric Pianos and Hammond Organ, Ian Cutler on Bridge Aquila Electric Violin with Jim Yardley on Mandolin (almost the Bully Wee Band), Deborah Neal on accordion and Nina Knaggs on Backing Vocals.

Mum's The Word Collage of tracks

This is a collage of the eleven tracks on my album Good and Plenty, which was released in December 2013.  The album features brand new recordings of three originals from previous albums but given a 2013 treatment, four new originals and four covers of songs by Steve Earle, Tom Waits , Bruce Springsteen and Mark Knopfler.
The album features guest appearances by my old mate Steve Shorey on magnificent electric lead guitar and the beautiful dulcet tones of the equally beautiful and dulcet Karen Ann Hunter on harmony vocals.
Also featured is my late great mate John 'Smudger' Smith with some cameo appearances on mandolin, fiddle and guitar which I managed to lift from some recordings we did together a few years ago.

Good And Plenty Collage

Released in 2001, this was my first album of totally original material for nearly sixteen years and to a large  extent  saw a return to my love of storytelling within song. All the songs on the album are self penned with the exception of 'Hold Me In Your Arms' which was written by two friends Karen Taylor and Tony Walker.

50 channels - Live collage by The Bully Wee Band

A brand new studio recorded CD by the Bully Wee Band, released just in time for their January 2016 tour (and Christmas of course), entitled  Like The Snow

Since the Bully Wee Band reformed in 2004 they have not surprisingly added to their extensive 45 year repertoire and this album is the result.  It is the first time they have been in the studio as one unit in 35 years and the finished tracks demonstrate how they and their sound have matured over the years.

The album  includes covers of songs as far ranging as those from Sydney Carter, Arthur Alexander, Paul Rodgers and Tim Hardin. Also included is a new song from Colin's dear friend John Cunningham and the traditional Irish ballad Carrickfergus.
The album title track Way Below The Tide is a re-recording of Colin's self-penned song concerning the Scottish Great Silkie legend that, at certain times, seals may come ashore, remove their coats and take human form. Originally recorded by the Bully Wee Band on the Madmen of Gotham album, Colin felt it was time to reintroduce the song to the world and thus its inclusion on the album.
The album features some guest musicians in the shapes of Peter Knaggs and Steve Shorey on guitars, Marc Woodward on mandolin, John Cunningham on backing vocals and Colin's life partner Deborah Neal on accordion.

Maybe a little more rootsy this time, included are covers of songs as far ranging as those from Lennon & McCartney, Paul Simon, Tom Paxton, Emmylou Harris and Al Stewart. Also included is a song written by Colin's friend Nick Cann displaying Nick's wicked sense of humour as well as his fine songwriting talent. 
A welcome return goes to Colin's long term Bully Wee Band buddy Ian Cutler for a storming up-to-date re-recording of Colin's song 'Tween Me And You, originally recorded on their Face To Face album.

This is a collage of the tracks from the 2012 album Red Wing by Colin Reece.

I’m particularly happy about the fact that I managed to rescue some recordings my late mate Smudger and I made a couple of years ago.  I took the solos he did on those recordings, freshened them up a bit and mixed them into the tracks on Red Wing, so the old sod is still playing from beyond the grave as it were.  Smudger lives on." A song written by Paul Simon which just came together while I was messing around in the home studio. Laid down a basic track and just started overdubbing.  Before I knew it this came out.  
I just like the feel of it.
