Raised in Toulouse, France, Aurore Dexmier quickly had a fascination with counterculture and its artistic output, especially in music. With her roots lying in punk and its various crossovers with electronic music, her calling was truly locked in when she moved to New York in search of a bigger scene.

There, she would spend time at places like Bossa Nova Civic Club to discover new music and experiences. Track selection and digging being her number 1 passion, Dexmier moved to Paris where she has her own label, 99cts rcrds, to put out a huge variety of different styles of music.

TWR72 joins for DifferentSound Podcast #110.

TWR72 pioneers a forward thinking approach towards electronic music: a fusing and pulsing rhythm with a cutting drive, binding it with a strong signature groove. Amsterdam based, he premiered a collaboration with Truncate in 2014. This was the same year in which Float Records was established that explores the combination of perfection and simplicity shown by both new talented producers as well as renowned artists. Between 2016 and 2020, he had his debut in Techno’s most praised club, Berghain, released the successful EP 'X' on his own label and surprised with the unique series 'ERROR' which all let to touring around Europe and the US. In 2020, TWR72 started his 2nd label for his long love and passion: the Techno era of the late nineties, early twenties. OOM Records brings back that memorable sound with high BPM loop groovers for a new era. Furthermore, a fruitful collaboration with the Amsterdam based party organization Orphic has started. After closing 2020 with a successful EP at close friends label HAYES, TWR72 celebrates 2021 with the 50th release "VOID" on Float Records and his debut on Mindtrip Records. After the summer, his first EP "Venom" on OOM Records is to be released and he will debut on Setaoc Mass' SK_Eleven.

Dancehall Fusion mix 13 this time with Brooklyn-based notorious DJ and producer Uproot Andy. We first came across Andy’s work through his Red Bull Radio show Bien Buena, alongside Riobamba. Currently member of the Canada-based Moonshine collective, Uproot Andy has been a staple music activist in the scene for over a decade.

Freshly back from a tour in Colombia, he managed to deliver a special condensed selection of dancehall-(up)rooted tracks, in anticipation to his set at La Gravière. In this mix, he explores different and lesser known styles of dancehall in different languages to examine how early reggaeton has criss-crossed with afrobeats, and reggae to produce original new sounds in places like Kenya, Martinique and Mauritius.

Get ready for an outernational journey exposing the worldwide influences of dancehall!
