Mark Tempest interviews Colin Kennaugh live on 'The Shift Radio'

A quirky, acoustic driven, organic pop song, inspired by the story of 'the prodigal son' in Luke 15: 11-32 in The Bible.
I wrote this song about reaching a point where I realised, that without Jesus in my life it was a mess.
The only way to 'fix it', was to 'Play by the Rules'.
To start using 'The Manual', 'The Instruction Book of Life', "The Bible".
I suppose you could say I'm singing this song to Jesus,
and asking for His forgiveness and guidance.
"Experience is the PRODUCT of age,
but WISDOM is The FRUIT of THE SPIRIT".

A powerful, rocky lamentation that tugs at the heart strings.
Life is a learning curve and pain quite often leads to growth and understanding. We all make mistakes, some big one's and some small one's. It's comforting to know however, that Jesus died for those mistakes so we may have life, and life to the full...You know better now

You Know Better Now

An acoustically rooted, laid back philosophic lament.
Everybody is looking for 'something to believe in'. 
Something to give them hope, peace, love and wisdom.
Jesus said 'I am The Way, The Truth and The Life,
and no man comes to The Father except through me'
I believe this statement to be true.
No philosopher, politician, movie star, singer, musician or athlete,
no idols of this world can fill the God-shaped hole in all of us, 
only Jesus can.

I wrote this song when I was working through one of the darkest times in my life, and God knows, I've had quite a few.
It's a song about focusing on the light at the end of the tunnel.
 It's only when we've been through 'the valleys'
 that we can truly appreciate the mountain views.
 Life may seem tough right now, but don't worry,
 keep on striving forward to what's in front of you
 You will come through these trials.........'Persevere'

that dedicated group of 'beat around the Bushes' 
who never answer the relevant question, 
they just 'skirt around' the important points, 
in order not to damage their own agenda.

A jangly, uplifting piece of indie-pop, written about the wonderful quality of humility
